I'm starting to feel a little better today, so I might try and polish up the impressions tonight.  That kind of set me back a couple days.  I may or may not do another tidbit as well.

Well, glad you're feeling better.  :tup

I do my First Impressions literally as each song finishes for the first time. It's usually the first thing that pops in my head. One sentence.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I try and do a quick draft of them after my first listen as well, but sometimes it's not very interesting.  Sometimes the final ones maybe aren't very interesting either.  :P  But on second and third listens often something else will grab my attention that I didn't catch at first.

So, these impressions came out more negative than I recalled when initially workshopping them, so a few of you should know that the later impressions and results may not reflect these, even by the second listen or further.  One other small thing coming tomorrow as well.

Round 7 Early Impressions:

1:  HOF - Sweet Billy Pilgrim - The second half is fairly repetitive and goes on for quite awhile.  Good thing I like it.

2:  In a more perfect world this would be the kind of music rock radio would play.

3:  TAC - Dreamgrave - This is all over the place, but in a way that appeals to me.

4:  I like the spaciousness of the atmosphere, but the guitars have no weight to them.

5:  This definitely captures some of the feeling of the third song.

6:  The synths are really cool when they appear, but they aren't present enough.

7:  The only thing I could remember about it were the tom rolls.

8:  The guest vocals seem rather underutilized.

9:  The basic sound is pretty cool, but I'm not sure how memorable it's going to be.

10:  This is the metal version of a kid walking into a candy store.

11:  This seems to have most of the right elements, but for some reason isn't clicking with me.

12:  This song only has enough ideas to support half of its runtime.

13:  soupytwist - Ancient Bards - I've heard many, many songs like this, but I couldn't help being pulled in by the end.

14:  The instrumental arrangement is a bit bare-bones, but the vocals seem like they could be infectious.

15:  It became unexpectedly epic in the middle, but might have gone on a minute or two too long.

16:  The harsh vocals might be holding this back some.

17:  I don't remember taking LSD, but I somehow must have.

18:  This is definitely the sound from the first song I'm looking for, but will this one grow on me?

Yes to Stadler, no to Evermind and Lethean, although that could make sense for Voyager.
