Have you heard that Sweet Trip album? It wasn't on your RYM so I had the longest song on there in consideration for your 10+ minute round.

It's a nice atmospheric album but I don't find it particularly engaging as a whole. But that's the case with most top-rated RYM albums for me so maybe I'm just weird. :biggrin:

Velocity : Design : Comfort was pretty good! I'll definitely be revisiting it. The more glitchy parts might take a little getting used to, but everything else was really nice.
Frengers was alright. Comforting Sounds was just as great as I remember it being, but I'll probably need more listens for the rest of the songs to click with me. I don't have anything bad to say about the album, though.

Saw these guys live and was totally blown away! They should get more love. After the show I hit their merch booth hard!!! Super cool dudes too!



Another gem that needs more love! They cover pretty much all elements of metal.

I've been getting into Revocation this last year as well. I made a Spotify playlist, that started off as all the classic death metal albums I'd yet to check out. As time went on I added more modern death/progressive death/tech death bands to the mix. Chaos of Forms is my favourite album of theirs but that's probably more melodeath to be honest. I've been digging Obscura as well, who are similar.

Great band.

James LaBrie - Elements of Persuasion been a long time since I spun this album but it holds up well. Those lyrics are rough though, not as bad as some of the later releases.

While I don't dislike Frames, I'm kind of with you: I've always had the feeling that I was supposed to be enjoying it more than I actually did. It just left me feeling kind of cold... even my favorite songs. Don't have time for that

Obscura are excellent! Check out Mors Principium Est as well, there new one comes out Friday the 8th.  :metal

 I would love your opinion on this one. Very old school vibe which I love. They admitted the recording isn't great (low budget at home) but it has a charm to it that keeps me listening.... Is it only me?
