I too am a Slayer fan boy, but King was always my least favourite member and I think I'll struggle to listen without thinking "This would sound better with Tom".

I agree! I don't think Slayer will ever release another album aside from a few reunion shows so here's to hoping it's decent.  :metal

For those interested in discovering new metal, this is a really good one...

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/39Bhd6zF1EfAx0BeDbhaMu?si=nmzo-dLpRrKAVz7x671SiA&pi=wWCKjqL6SBC_4

It is updates every Saturday with all the new metal releases for the week. There's plenty of obscure stuff along with the more popular, and I've discovered some gems in the short time I've been following it.

This sounds interesting. Wonder if it's available on streaming (will go check). Not on Amazon Music unfortunately.

This one should be fun tomorrow:

Vredehammer - God Slayer

Their previous one was a great slab of blackened death metal with tight riffs and drumming.

Try Viperous (their previous one) and Violator too...those are the ones I know. I guess the new one is already available to you  :)

Yeah, it's 10am Friday here. This is pretty damn groovy but does have some strong black metal elements also so a nice mix.  I like the vocals quite a bit.  Only 38 minutes too which is perfect for this style.

Freak Kitchen - Everyone Gets Bloody
Teramaze - Eli: A Wonderful Fall From Grace

Really enjoyed it...fewer black elements that in the previous record, I'd say, and even more ripping riffage. Some of it actually makes me think of a more aggressive Lamb of God. Agreed on the vocals too. They have a certain "fullness" that doesn't get tiring.

I'll be checking out the Black Sabbath box set that's coming today, covering the Tony Martin era. I have zero knowledge about those albums since I'm just an Ozzy era fan. That's Sabbath to me.
