I bet mine is the one about good music but not vocals. Chad doesn't like Voyager's singer but instrumentally I don't see how a fan of prog metal could deny how awesome that song is.

Definitely possible.

Gone with the Wind

I might just give you some bonus points this comment alone.

In other words, you have no idea.
tbh i'm probably gonna drop out of this roulette after this round regardless of the result 'cause this one is just no fun at all for me & i am not the least bit invested anyways

Hey, I know it’s not the best feeling to be regularly at the bottom of the ratings - I’ve been in plenty of roulette’s where I’ve consistently been out of whack with the host - about a dozen I was either dead last, 2nd last, or eliminated at some point.  But, I always did my best to have fun and try to send something the host might like, or at least expose them to something accessible that's outside their comfort zone - which is what I believe you're doing... and that's cool.  I haven't outright disliked anything you've sent so far, even if it doesn't quite tickle my pickle.  But if you’re not having fun, certainly no need to overstay your participation.  Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

I would have sent something from Ghost Mile, if only because it's newer than the tour he saw with Evergrey, and maybe their latest would resonate better.  Having said that, I hope The Meaning of I does well.

Mine could be a lot of these, but I wonder if it's the back in familiar territory one.

Just gotta say, other than a couple of whiffs, this is the strongest - or at least, most consistent - round so far.  Gonna be real painful to hand out those 7s and 8s.  I think the top 2 or 3 are also set ... the middle of the pack is really bunched up.

It is. After I saw Voyager open for Rhapsody in 2012 I listened to TMOI on repeat for the whole summer. The song (and album) rock. Chad should give me first place  :lol

Parama, you seem like a decent guy, but honestly?  You really don't have much to complain about as far as "being in last place".   And let's not forget: this isn't the World Cup, and no one is using these roulettes to feed their families.   We're among friends, hopefully having some fun talking about music - a subjective endeavor, to be sure.  It's kind of insulting to both the host and the other players that when things don't go your way you take your ball and go home.

If you just never play to win, like me, doing badly will not affect your enjoyment at all. Every round is a new chance to introduce the host to something they may never have even heard of, I think that's a great concept in itself.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Well, "playing to win" and "quitting like a baby when you don't" aren't the same things.  I play to win (even if it doesn't seem like it) but I also have a different pool of music to pull from.  The people running the roulettes around here - for the most part - seem to like a certain genre that I am just not versed in.   So I opt for an alternate strategy that sometimes works (Kattleox) and most often doesn't, i.e. taking things we already THINK we know, and re-purposing them.   I am seriously considering submitting my future offerings scrubbed of band and album information (and I am seriously considering having an "anonymous" round when I have my next roulette).   There's a bias here against things that "sell" for some reason, and I don't really understand it.   For me, I think it's part of - not all, but part of - the magic when an artist can write something with the best of intentions, and have that work emotionally touch millions of people.

Lethean did the anonymous thing earlier, and it really didn't make much difference.  As I've said, I'm randomly and blindly playing my first 2-3 listens so I'm (for the most part) completely oblivious to what I'm listening to.  There are exceptions - like when I got Alice Cooper and Heart... kinda hard not to know which ones those were.  Even the title doesn't often give me a clue, because my first listen I'm usually multi-tasking, so I often times don't even pay much attention to the lyrics.

This round for example... even though Evermind gave a bit of details in his description (female, symphonic), TAC's song was also female/symphonic... so I didn't know which song was which.  At least 1/2 of what I listen to the first couple times, I literally have no idea which song it is, or who submitted it - which is helping me remove any unintended or subconscious bias.

I believe I'm allowing the music to stand on its merits on by itself.
