To me, those videos tell that the album will have JR all over it.
Directly or/and through an orchestra.
If this is true, i hope it will be similar, somehow, to SDOIT disc 2.
I'd really like to have songs ala about to crash (both of them).

I heard Mozart died last year. Can anybody tell me if that's actually true?

Okay I'll stop now XD

What's a Mozart??  :corn
I think it's some sort of lute.

What is a lute? Is it a device used by my ancestors when they mate with apes?

I predict the introduction of both of these are the sorts of sounds we'll hear from the NOMACS. But I think only the first one has any substantial material from the new album. It honestly sounds chock-full of DT music.

I'm curious about the update we might get today. If it's a new character, it will be one we haven't heard about yet (unless it's Faythe) considering we already knew about Nafaryus, Arhys and Gabriel (well, at least we heard about the Chosen, but not his name).

How important will the locations and map be on the album? Will places get mentioned in the lyrics? (Don't cross the Crooked Lake? I know we joke about it, but that could be a feasible lyric here.)

I predict the first one actually is first two songs (nomac one and Dystopian Overture)

The monday updates usually came when I was at school the past few weeks, which would be somewhere between now and 2 hours from now.

Here's two other demo's that Rudess did at Drum Fest 2015. To me, the style of music does match what I would expect to be on the new album in one way or another.

I know. What I meant is that we knew there was a chosen but we did not know THEN that his name was Gabriel.

This is with regard to those who wish Steven Wilson would produce the new DT album.   I give you exhibit A.   Listen to "take shelter" on Anathema's album Distant Satellites then listen to the same song on their new live record "a sort of homecoming"      This is proof that we don't want Steven Wilson anywhere near a Dream Theater album.  ALL of the distant sattelite songs sound better on the new live album.
SW only mixed that song and another one on that album. ALL the other songs and the overall production of the album was not SW's job, so that peculiar sound choice is due to the producer (CA Cederberg).
From Rome, with love.

JR just uploaded on FB the greatest tease ever.

:lol What a troll, getting people thinking that there is a snippet then just uploading complete silence.

I think that, like in SfaM, those kind of things will be mentioned within the booklet with a few references here and there in the lyrics.

Pretty much just characters and map to update. I think the videos will be last.

I guess it's one of the only things to string us along though. It's almost like a countdown to a video in that regard.

Yeah, but I'm at the point that even the crappiest character name and design would please me. xD

So wikipedia has the album release date of Jan 29th. Has this been confirmed by the band? Or is it just nonsense someone made up on wikipedia?

Seems like every album release cycle, I have to point out that even if this is the planned release date, that information is at least a month old, and we are still a good 2 months away from that date.  In the last 12 weeks before an album release, it is VERY common for the release date to be changed.  And sometimes it changes more than once.
