This Saturday's birthday bash is rolling up quickly.  Looks like I'm now going to be smoking pork on Friday, then smoking more pork and brisket on Saturday.  Gonna be a tiring few days.  And I still have plenty more yardwork to do this week to prepare for Saturday's festivities.  The liquor table is set up, I've juiced limes and made jalapeno syrup for margaritas, all the pork rub is made up and ready, we put together a makeshift "stage" to set up some drums, guitars, and bass, so people can jam if they like, the pool heater will be on probably most of the day, we've premade a boatload of homemade BBQ (aka sloppy joe), buffalo chicken dip, and triple threat macaroni.  Off to pick up a keg probably Friday, and I think we'll be close to ready for this.  Also, there's still taco dip to make.  It's like we're preparing for a bazillion people.  But I'd rather have too much than not enough.  Looking forward to it!

Nope, just been resting all day. I figure my usual lifestyle was perfectly suitable for it.

The damn thing didn't even have the common courtesy to swell up or looking any different, so hopefully it's not too bad.

Ankle Stories!


A couple years ago, my buddy was playing a gig at a tattoo parlor in Hollywood. He was picking me up on his way out, and was running late. When he got to my place, he called me and I came running out. I ran across the street and twisted my ankle going up the curb. I then proceeded to dick around walking around Hollywood till 4am, and then bowled on it 2 days later. I had fucked it up pretty bad.

Even now, like 6 years later, it sometimes hurts. I woke up to it sore. Gonna wear a brace all day at work.

I'm staying off my bike til at least next spring because I get terrible stabbing pains in my arm and shoulder from holding the handlebars form where I hit the tarmac.

ouch did you go to the doctor to get it checked out?

I did. Nothing is broken. And the doc said shoulders in particular take a long time to heal up. So...

But the aching in my hands has definitely gotten better.

Aw, that sucks.
Things move so fast, a lot of those 25,000 people probably just skimmed past it without paying much attention. It's sad, but it doesn't surprise me these days. Of the 100 that clicked, I'm surprised none of them even listened though. Why check it out if you're not going to at least listen?
If you enjoy making the music though, don't let things like this dissuade you.
