To be honest - I don't know what Dynamic Range is - my bro says he wants a camera with 16 stops of Dynamic Range and i'm like...erm...That's one more than 15 ? ?
Dynamic range is how large a range of light a camera can detect, such as bring able to capture bright light without overexposing, and better capturing low light without noise. Higher is obviously better, but I don't know physical cameras in terms of what's a good number or what average sensors have.
In digital rendering, high dynamic range means an image can store colour values brighter than "white", beyond RGB255,255,255, so even if it looks pure white on screen, it can still store the correct lighting tint and brightness for post colour adjustment and effects.
