Have they announced a director Jimmy?

I'm kinda hopeful for T5. More hopeful now than I was 5 years ago when they first announced a new trilogy.

Reboots *CAN* be done well ( Robocop 2014 was an unexpected surprise imo ).

It'll never touch the first two but at least Jim Cameron gets royalties for the plot, characters whatever they do ;D.

Cool.  I'm interested with Arnold's age and where they are going with this.

I think Arnie still looks good for his age - physique wise anyway. Obviously he dyes his hair and looks older in the face but compared to how he looked in T2 -

- he's just a bit wider. I think they can pull it off with stunt guys and mo cap or whatever.

Alan Taylor did a great job with Thor 2 and also directed several episodes of Game of Thrones. I think he'll be great. I just hope the script holds up, because the actors/director are great picks IMO.

While I'm super disappointed that the series finally got to the war with the machines only to get rebooted, I'm interested in watching this upcoming one because of the involvement of Arnold, Alan Taylor and, of course, Emilia Clarke.

I can't believe it's actually called Terminator: Genisys though.

It's really hard to say at this point if it is a reboot, remake or just a sequel. The time travel element has always made it confusing, and if it's more of a retcon where something happens in the future, they travel back to events of the original and stuff happens, I don't know.. it could be interesting. The fact that they got James Cameron involved, if only just for a few meetings to get his opinions and ideas, that makes me hopeful. Even if he didn't have a HUGE impact, the few hints/pointers he could give would only benefit the movie IMO.

I hope they explain at least in the movie why its Genisys though. I'm sure it'll fall in line with something in the Terminator being like Cyberdyne which works. If not, consider me disappointed. Doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the movie anymore cause I sure as hell am.

Even though the movie wasn't that great, I liked him The Last Stand so I'm sure he will do just fine. Haven't seen the other 2 movies that came out after that one but have heard good things about Escape Plan.

Escape Plan and Expendables made money but he hasn't fronted a movie that's made money yet.

Not counting cameos - out of his first four films since coming back - two were flops and two made money.

Interestingly - the two that bombed were him fronting the movies.

He seems to work better in an ensemble or with a co-lead.

I've always been a big fan of him and thought his dodgy acting was part of his charm. He seems like a lovely person in reality and I just want him to

have a huge hit again :D

Hope this is Arnie's big hit after coming back to movies.

Me too. If Terminator can't do it, nothing can.

The name looks odd, but I'm sure it relates to the movie somehow. "sys" is likely short for "system" or something, possibly relating to Cyberdyne Systems.

I'm quite optimistic for the movie at this point. I don't expect it could possibly match 1 or 2, but hopefully it's at least worthy of being part of the franchise with them.
The plot sounds like it could either end up being really awesome, or turn out just being a cheap rehash. Hopefully the former! I heard a rumor that Arnie's character got sent back too early and had to wait for the other Terminator to arrive in 1984, and the living tissue of his body has aged, accounting for his older appearance.

This movie will either just be a hit or a miss and I really want it to be a hit. The Terminator franchise is capable of making great action movies if done right so I hope this is the start of a new good beginning with them and having Arnie lead the way again.

Considering that Hollywood supposedly cares about being a positive influence on the world, I hope they release whatever anti-aging technology they're going to use on Arnold.  It must be pretty amazing and important stuff if it can make him look like he did when he made the original Terminator movies.

From what I've seen of set photos, they're not de-ageing him at all, it will just be present day Arnie with some plot justification as to why he looks older.

Personally, I think they could have pulled it off with prosthetics. It's not like he needs much facial movement, and if it looks a little fake, well it is a robot!

True, but even though the skin was real, if it did end up looking fake, it wouldn't be so out of place that it would take you out of the movie. You could even call it a different model of Terminator if it mattered.

Ho. Ly. Shit.

Nolan's 2nd best film after Inception in my opinion. I love when he does Sci Fi so cannot frickkin wait for Interstellar.

Prestige is awesome. Dark and mysterious and gets really fun towards the end.

I'm never sure if the reveal that he was killing himself or a double every night was supposed to be a twist....

The way Michael Caine narrates the final scene it's as if you're expecting it to be something else...

I absolutely adore everything I've ever seen from Nolan (except TDKR)...and I will see Interstellar.   But...am I the only one here who found the trailer really underwhelming?

Yeah, the trailer really didn't do a whole lot for me, either.  I'm sure it will be a great movie, but I'm just not sure what to expect from it at this point.

Just saw the terrifyingly awesome Coherence last night. It's an indie sci-fi that is very basic on the outside and its premise but is an ocean of thought in story, presentation, cinematography and eventual reveal into the real story. If you read up on it, read only the very basic synopsis, otherwise it'll ruin it. Don't watch any trailers. But if you're into relatively simplistic movies in terms of premise (a room of friends have dinner during the passing of a comet, that's really all you should know) that end up being something you'll think about for days and is mentally enthralling and emotionally haunting and unnerving, you need to watch this right now. I got it on iTunes rentals. I'm gonna buy it now.

Awesome!! I really hope you enjoy it, I rewatched it this morning and it's...definitely one of my favorite movies. But it's one that unnerves me and disturbs me enough that I'll probably only watch it a couple times a year.  :lol Completely fascinating though.

Sounds like my kind of movie and will bump it up my watchlist or else it'll just get buried beneath the hundreds of movies I need to watch.

I would say it is more than worth at least the try. It's not too long, it's extremely tense and pretty much after the first ten minutes..you'll be attempting to 'solve' it at the edge of your seat. At least I was. I really love odd, disturbing movies that have more of an agenda than simply the superficial scare...and this movie is that in spades, on acid, magnified ten fold. As I said, it's almost too much at times. It's so damn interesting because it's honestly...at it's surface, what you 'see'...really isn't scary. At all. But upon inspection...really thinking about it...it starts to get truly...skin crawling-inducing. I also love it because at the same time, it doesn't take itself too seriously and there are some moments where I laughed out loud and immediately returned to stunned silence.  :lol

I take back what I said, I'll watch this more than a couple times a year but I will HATE MYSELF for it.  :rollin
