Congratulations fellow Europeans to the Peace Nobel Price!

What are your thoughts about this unusual move?

There is a machroscopic share of the Italian opinion base thinking this move just as bad as the Nobel Prize awarded to Obama a few years back (was it 2009 or 2010?).

I beg to disagree with them. The Europen Union is far from perfect, but granted 70 years of lasting peace to a continent that had been plagued by continuous war for the previous 2500 years. Europe is going through a very difficult time, and tensions that had been thought subsided forever are starting to rise again. This prize might be intended as a signal to the Heads of our community to act as one to preserve peace and stability always acting to increase cooperation and mutual help rather than pursuing the individual interests. Europe is everyone's garden. We tore down the fences and now it's time to cease minding just our own lawn.

So, a Nobel prize for the future. I really hope this symbolic event will help everyone to remember that we have a common goal to pursue together. :)

I knew it was only a matter of time before I got that goddamn prize!
