Elite 6 +2 Persona Non Grata -Imaginative Mind

Ah Elite.... I don't know where to start... The bass intro is awesome. The guitar tone is brilliant. So loud and aggressive. Vocal melodies are killer. Perfect tune!

Other songs in the album meet the same standard as well. This is one of those bands that climbed up in my list in this Roulette. Seriously takes me away every time I listen to them. A driving track that makes you wanna sink into your couch and bath in the glory of the tunes.
Wanders into some pretty cool progressive area musically...
Well, you get the picture. Great job!

WebRaider  6.2 Firewind - Into The Fire

Power Metal!!! Always been with me all over the years.... and this is not just another power metal song....., not the usual stuff, it's more guitar-oriented, a tad heavier, more powerful, rough... and melodic as hell....in other words, it melts almost all the bits I love in one pot… jackpot… I don't know which bit to praise... The fact that the singer has a killer voice? The vocal melodies touching my very soul? The fact that it is just the right amount of heavy? The beautiful drums?

Really good grasp of my taste Web… congrats! At some point in the Roulette, I said power-prog is the ultimate for me - I was hoping someone would introduce me to new stuff in this vein and and here we go! Brilliant shit!

This band certainly speaks to my ear, brain and heart...

Zantera – 6 ISIS-  Hall of the Dead

Whoa!!!... So powerful intro! From 00:01, you can tell that you're in for a treat. Awesome brutal vocals... blistering guitar riff leading the way, the vocalist's raspy growls and screams fitting in very well... yummmm... Super atmospheric... Psychedelic and hypnotic... I'm not listing a bullshit bingo, I have another of those bands now - you know, the one you listen to when you need to go to another place, when you fancy a bit of tripping...

King  6  Rocket Scientists – Earthbound

You nailed it again King…. Hat's off! I love studio videos and this one is pretty impressive... You just can't help it and respect these guys… This song brings a lot of respectable musicals elements together…

Proggy keyboards, jazzy transitions - nice, Pink Floyd-ish sound from time to time.... Musical mastership!

yorost  - 5.5 +1 Healing Sixes - Slag Pit

That guitar tone is sick, man! I'm a huge fan of BCC... I was almost "losing it" at High Voltage last year... Made instant friends out of other die-hard fans - singing along Glenn Hughes out loud… It was an awesome value finding this band for me… They have a bit of that certain something a la Alice in Chains - whom I love as well... Vocals are so "badboy" - I love it! Flowing informative background earned the song another penny as well!

Boy_floyd  5.6  Rhapsody - Warrior Of

Another power metal submission which made me jump up and down... Holy kick off Batman! With some mighty sharp riffs scattered about.... Big catchy hooks (no pun intended  :P) - fist-pumping chorus... On top of all these, some energetic solos dropped at the right times... Well picked buddy!

ariich – 5.4 Strapping Young Lad - "Far Beyond Metal"

Whoa! I never knew that this band was right up my alley... I checked out this band a few times and quite liked them... but you know.. didn't follow up... But picking the right song, you showed me that I can dig them... My fave part is where the song goes into a catchy and powerful anthem-chorus (a new hybrid creature found in the deserts of Har'Akir) and the fantastic soloing. Another jewel of a submission from Rich!

dethklok09  4.5 Breaking Benjamin - Unknown Soldier

Now, I'd like to thank you for sending a nice piece from a genre I am hugely biased about… I know I annoy the fans when I say it's not my cup of tea (for some bands… Radiohead for instance) but you know how it goes, tastes! Anyway... this song is a good example showing me that although it's not my style overall, it's a mistake to overlook the complete works… There are some gems in the heap… Specifically, for this song, I found that there are some very impressive bits here and there… Namely the drumming, loud guitars and passionate singing… Definitely made me wanna hear more of BB…

It was an amazing round overall... Thank y'all!

The fact that Radiohead isn't your cup of tea didn't annoy anyone I'm sure. It's just a little weird that you would call their music "just another pop-rock song" because that's not what they are, at all. So there. :)

We are actually agreeing but I might be failing to get the idea across.

What I am trying to say is, since I am prejudiced against Radiohead, if I knew that it was a Radiohead song I would have said "probably just another pop rock song" - to be clear, I am criticizing myself here.

In other words, I mean I must be missing loads of good stuff just because I am prejudiced against some bands.

And I tried to make it clear that what you sent was NOT "just another pop rock song" after all.

Hope this clarifies....

On another note, most of what I love, people see as just noise. Each song would do different things for different people. In general, when I don't like something, it does not mean they are not good - it just means I, specifically and subjectively, do not like them.

I understand 100% and I agree. I was mainly addressing what you said in the post in blue "I know I annoy the fans when I say it's not my cup of tea (for some bands… Radiohead for instance)" and saying that nobody was annoyed that you didn't like them, that's okay, but just that you prejudiced. :) It's all good.

It can be difficult for sure but it's much easier if you just quote it without actually posting the quote so you can view it with just the formatting tags and not having to see it in the actual formatted way.

Try it with the Beneath the Surface theme, like trying to find a grain of rice in a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snowstorm.
