Funeral is amazing, its a tie 4th with the title track for me.

Jirpo, you're the only other DTFer I can think of besides me that has a positive opinion of both Dirge and Funeral. This really makes me happy since I thought I was on an island up to this point  :coolio
I'm in that club. Dirge is a very solid song, and Funeral is just excellent.

Count me in too.  Dirge's melodic passage after the acoustic intro is absolute bliss.  TFP then comes in as a behmoth of huge riffs, coupled with both a great middle solo and outro solo.  Awesome tracks.

I'm not too familiar with Opeth yet but I like Dirge for November. Great into and outro and when the lyrics get powerful so do the vocals and music.

Dirge is one of my favorites from BWP, probably third after BWP and Bleak.

I'm not sure what the difference in pricing is in other countries, but here in Denver I was actually surprised at how cheap my Opeth shirt was compared to other shows I've been to. It was $20 or $25, I forget now but I'm sure somebody else in the US can confirm that for me (I got the black/green record one).

Oh I didn't track-by-track this album yet

let's do it

even though it's been a bit since I listened to it now, oh well

Heritage - totally fine opener, great way to start an album like this

The Devil's Orchard - awesome song, probably one of my favorites

I Feel the Dark - The first half is repetitive as all hell and gets tiring quickly but lots of great stuff in the second half

Slither - Y'know, I just feel this one is out of place. It's not bad, it just doesn't really seem to fit.

Nepethe - Probably my favorite on the album... goes from incredibly mellow to a weird yet pleasant sound seamlessly, it's just perfect from beginning to end

Haxprocess - Nice song, it just seems a little... I dunno, tame might be the word I'm looking for? It's not bad at all though.

Famine - Probably the heaviest song, and I really do like the heavy riffs in this one... can't really call to mind much else of the song though, could be due to not having listened to this recently though.

The Lines in My Hand - This song also runs the risk of being out of place, but I don't think it ends up sounding that way - and I quite like it for that

Folklore - Can't remember a  thing about the first half, the second half is damn solid though.

Marrow of the Earth - And a great way to close the album.

Kinda grew tired of the album quickly, but that's probably due to overplaying it. It's a great album still, and I hope they do something like it in the future; just not the very next album, please.

At the Opeth concert waiting for them to show up, giddy like a schoolgirl. Pain of Salvation opened for them (I didnt even know they were opening, what a poor promotion) and I thought they were cool, I will have to check their stuff

I'm tired now so I will write a review tomorrow, but I'm going to say two quick things:

- Opeth was awesome and Mikael's voice was perfect.
- Some drunken asshole that was yelling at the band even during songs and almost got into a fight with someone that told him to stfu ruined the concert for me.

Mikael is my hero, putting up with this shit nightly has to be annoying as hell.

Just came home from the concert, Opeth were amazing (as expected).
If you're interested in my thoughts on PoS, I'll post that in the PoS-thread. :P

But anyway, Opeth slayed, and I must say that the Heritage songs really sounded much better live.
Still, I honestly HATE metal-concerts, because there's always those people who attend the concert 99% for extreme headbanging and ruining the experience for others and 1% to actually hear the music.  :lol
Didn't bother me extremely, but still annoying when people are flying up and down like crazy.

The setlist was this:

1. The Devil's Orchard
2. I Feel the Dark
3. Face of Melinda
4. Porcelain Heart (with Drum solo)
5. Nepenthe
--acoustic--
6. The Throat of Winter
7. Credence
8. Closure
----
9. Slither
10. A Fair Judgement
11. Hex Omega
--encore--
12. Folklore

Show was amazing, I'm glad because Closure was the only song in the set that I had seen/heard before (the first time I saw them live, this was the second time)
Highlights? So many to choose from, but Face of Melinda, Hex Omega, A Fair Judgement, Credence.. the whole show was amazing, and Mikael's comedy acts between songs was great as always.  :heart

i was at the show on 29th november and it was really great. Surprisingly, even the audience was pretty awesome, as in not crying out during songs and not talking all the time(well, besides those 2 guys who looked like they were going to fall to the ground any moment because they were so damn drunk. Fortunately they left when the acoustic set startet). Of course there was the occasional "DELIVERANCE" or "DEMON OF THE FALL" cry in between songs, but those were just meant to mock Opeth a bit (at least that's what it sounded to me) and gave Mikael some opportunities to make jokes.
They were only some "booohhs" when Mikeal stated that he prefered Switzerland to Austria (I was at the show in Vienna).

The setlist was this:

1. The Devil's Orchard
2. I Feel the Dark
3. Face of Melinda
4. Porcelain Heart (with Drum solo)
5. Nepenthe
--acoustic--
6. The Throat of Winter
7. Credence
8. Closure
----
9. Slither
10. A Fair Judgement
11. Hex Omega
--encore--
12. Folklore

Personal highlights of the concert:
The Devils Orchard: i was really surprised how well that song worked live, definetely a great opener
Face of Melinda: Already so beautiful on the record, but a hundred times better live... :heart
The Porcelain Heart "mess up version" (full 15 minutes including two times when the guitar just wouldnt work and some guys worked with flashlights backstage while Axe did an extended drumsolo)
Slither: POOWWWWAAAHHH (yes, seriously)
Folklore: Just soooooooooooooo good
And i was really surprised when they just continued to slow down that last riff in A Fair Judgement until it lasted about 5 times as long than the original riff...

Though actually, all of it was great.
