Big Show helping Johnny Ace beat Cena last night was the most predictable PPV ending ever.

Also, can we all recognize what a piece of shit Ric Flair is, once and for all?  He might be a legend in the business, but he has always been a pile of shit, and now he is just a sad old man:
Quote
According to sources, people close to Ric Flair and TNA have confirmed that the two sides are at a major impasse, as there is a ton of heat on Flair for conduct outside the ring. One TNA source described the situation as, “being at the point it’s not worth keeping Flair around.” There have reportedly been a number of incidents involving Flair at local establishments and bars in Orlando since coming to the company. Sources say that Flair was banned from drinking at the Hard Rock Cafe in Citiwalk due to an incident with him “acting inappropriate”, leading to venue management banishing him.

There have been reports from talent in TNA that Flair has not been able to cover bar tabs repeatedly, and company management getting a call from the hotel and/or bar seeking payment. The most recent incident at the hotel TNA utilizes for their wrestlers and staff, which the company has had a great relationship with for years. This was reportedly the last straw in the situation, as Flair was pulled from the Louisiana house shows and the final TV Tapings before Impact Wrestling goes live on May 31st.

Many have compared this to the situation on the European tour last year, where TNA’s Craig Jenkins, after several days of fronting Flair money to cover a bar tab, refused to do so again. Flair then screamed at Jenkins in front of the entire crew and refusing to get on the TNA tour bus to head to the next date, and was then left behind. Publicly, Flair blamed the matter on the company not giving him “advances” like he would get when touring for WWE, citing that he was “used” to that treatment.

Many forces within the company have been against having him as a regular since he came into the company, noting that while he carries a high price tag, he hasn’t translated into drawing money or ratings for the company. And now with these issues, it seems, as all they are getting is “Ric Flair level behavior,” not “Ric Flair level performances.”

Others within the company feel that Flair and WWE put them in a “no win situation” when Flair was announced for the WWE Hall of Fame, noting that the company had no choice but to allow him to go in, or else they would look like they were denying Flair and the fans. Flair reportedly did not know that he was getting inducted but he publicly told fans he would be there “on stage” before a deal was signed that would allow him to appear.

Spike TV sources also note that there have also been a number of requests from the network end to keep Flair dressed and not have him near nude/in his wrestling gear and bleeding on TV at his age. There was even an order of arrest out for him if Flair did not pay the agreed settlement by a certain date. That order was issued because Flair had missed several agreed dates for payment of the settlement. The money was eventually paid and the NWA World title belt, which Highspots.com was holding as collateral, was seen displayed at WWE AXXESS this year. Most believe that WWE paid the debt and acquired the belt for their archive.

While it has not been confirmed, the word going around TNA this weekend was that Flair was finished with the company.

Unfortunately since leaving WWE, Flair has had several issues. He signed for a number of appearances with Ring of Honor, and then pulled out citing his relationship with WWE. Most feel that Flair realized ROH weren’t going to use Reid Flair following a drug arrest. When Flair didn’t pay back an advance given to him, ROH filed a lawsuit against him Flair also had issues with Highspots.com over money owed to them.

Great matches last night, But, I'm really sick of John Cena, what a horrible main event. Specially after Bryan vs Punk.
Cena needs to GTFO for a while.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Ric Flair was one of my (anti-)heroes back in the old NWA days and one of the reasons I enjoyed wrestling so much then. I don’t follow anything non-WWE related so didn’t even know he was still around in any wrestling capacity.

Just re-watched Beyond the Mat this weekend. Man did Jake Roberts look pathetic. I used to love him too.

Also just learned Shawn Michaels name is Michael Shawn Hickenbottom. Not sure why that amuses me.

And why did Albert surface again as some Japanese guy?

Wow, didn't even know there was a PPV last night, and I honestly I've been sick of Cena since his debut. There is just nothing threatening about him.

and

Did some one mention Ric Flair :neverusethis:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymEFer8XUl0

But seriously I don't even know what to think of Ric Flair anymore. He's been a part of my entire Wrestling viewing life, but I think he should have seriously retired after the match with Shawn Michaels.

That documentary was heartbreaking, since I really loved him back in the day. I much rather prefer the Pick Your Poison documentary.

SERIOUSLY! After yet another great match between Bryan and Punk (that's what? the 4th great match they've had this year?) to end it with that abomination and the most obvious ending ever is... ugh!

All good man...all good. Wrestling is not important enough for me to get all riled up about.

As you noted Hogan and many other wrestlers are not exactly model citizens they get paid to have big egos and I think that in part causes issues outside of the ring. The whole business is pretty much a shame and has turned me off of it all a long time ago.

So now Albert is going by just Tensai and has dropped the Lord title and other aspects of the gimmick. The office probably has no idea why its not working.

I thought that was a pretty decent Raw last night.

Watching Prince Abertrainsai finally get beat was very satisfying and I loved the barbeque sauce thing.

Sin Cera was pretty sweet too.

also, I'm happy to hear that Vince is coming back new week.

Thread bump, damn I'm loving AJ at the minute. I dig crazy chicks too.

So a few legends have came back on RAW to hype up RAW1000, was awesome seeing Sid last night!

I can see the last legend returning on the 1000th show and taking it to the Slater being The Undertaker, cause he just has to be involved in it considering he was on the 1st RAW.

A New RAW GM soon too? My money is on Ric Flair!

EDIT: Time for a new thread title?

Speaking more seriously, I used to watch this when I was 13. I liked the WWF in the Attitude era because they pushed new talent instead of keeping dinosaurs around forever the way the WCW did. I remember Mick Foley once said "I thought about going to the WCW, but then I decided I'm not quite old enough yet." That was awesome. Now the WWE is much worse than WCW ever was in that regard. Also it really is white trash, and this is coming from a guy who dips tobacco-- that should tell you something.

I always thought Lex Luger was underrated. He wouldnt be somebody that could carry a match; but If he was in the ring with a good worker, he could have a great match. Three matches that stand out to me are Luger vs Rhodes from starrcade 86, Luger vs Flair from starrcade 88 and Luger vs Pillman from Havoc 89. All three are awesome matches.

I always thought he fared better in tag matches.  Him and Windham made a good team.  I do seem to recall that Pillman match though.  He went on the downhill when he came to the WWF as "The Narcissist"  What a lame gimmick.

Luger's WWF run was a disaster, but his original NWA/WCW run was tremendous.  From 1988-1992, he was up there with Flair and Sting as far as being a main eventer.  Plus, he was over like crazy when he was a face, and was always hated a lot when a heel, so it is hard to argue with that.  Flair's refusal to put him over as the champion before he left for the WWF in the summer of 1991 forever hurt Luger's rep.

And it's funny that Flair was so critical of Bret Hart for not wanting to drop the belt to Shawn Michaels at the Survivor Series in 1997, when he refused to lose to the belt to Luger anywhere in both 1990 and 1991.  Then again, Flair is a piece of shit, so it is no surprised that he is a hypocrite as well.

I only know Lugar from the NWA days. I didn’t ever follow WCW and didn’t follow WWE when he was there.

What are some of your favorite and least favorite personas/gimmicks?

I have always been an Undertaker fan. Being a kid and seeing him with Paul Bearer and the urn was creepy-awesome.

There have been too many crappy gimmicks to think of my top (bottom?) ones off the top of my head.

A few off the top of my head

Worst:
I hated The Repo Man.
Kane's dentist thing?  Isaac Yankem, right?
Sid Justice?  Justice???  Are you kidding me!
The Patriot

Best:
Road Warriors, best schtick ever... until the WWF commercialized it.  In the AWA and NWA, they were something else.
Sting's 'crow' gimmick was pretty damn good too.
Brett Hart anti-american.  Loved world-wide; hated State-side.
NWO ... when it was just the three of them.  When it ballooned to half the f'n WCW, ugh.  I think they jumped the shark when they added Buff Bagwell.

Somehow my dept at work ended up with this creepy clown, and it ended up becoming our mascot. We took submissions for names, and someone googled "clown" and ended up with a picture of Doink. She forwarded it to the team and everyone loved the name Doink, so that is what we went with. I was the only one who knew who Doink actually was.

I remember the Road Warriors from the NWA. Wasn't their entrance theme Iron Man?

I never liked Kane, not really sure why, I just never have.
