I caught a show on The Tea Party & I Mother Earth tour last night, since they were playing at a casino only a 10 minute drive away. It’s rare that I can ever see a show that close to home.
I had only seen each band once before, and that was decades ago, so I figured this would be worth checking out.
I found I Mother Earth to be quite mesmerizing, and it was great to see Edwin back fronting the band again. They have such a high level of musicianship, and at times they had three percussionists on stage.
The Tea Party were pretty damn rocking and Jeff Martin’s voice sounded great. Sister Awake was killer, and sounded so heavy. My only complaint is that they included four cover songs (or portions of those songs), which seemed a bit much when the set length was only 75 minutes. Admittedly, they were great renditions, and they did manage to make the songs their own.
