I have no idea who the old pilots were. I have no idea who the new pilots are.

Let's see. I know Michael, Booker, Saru, Tilly, Stamutz, the doctor dude........the girl with the robot part on her face? The other girl who was more robot?

But most of the people I know aren't on the bridge. They're in engineering. So I have no clue who most of that bridge crew is.

....the girl with the robot part on her face?

It was her and her other pal.....they were there from the beginning and then suddenly they're just gone. Again, Maybe it was explained somewhere in the story....but it wasn't done well. They were just a part of the show for many seasons then just gone.

The other girl who was more robot?

I remember why she was no longer there.....she made that choice to not jump into the future with the rest of them because she'd been infected or something like that....ehh....I think that's what it was?? anyway....that character was killed off

I feel bad for the main pilot woman because her character was so annoying that it made me kind of hate her face. The good thing is that I've forgotten most of this travesty so if I see her in another movie it wouldn't cause a problem.

I think she sacrificed herself? I just remember her to some degree. Largely due to her unique look.

But yea, this show definitely has the least memorable cast of any ST I've ever seen. I can still probably all or most of the Enterprise crew, and even a number of the SNW crew. Obviously most people posting here can name anyone from TOS, TNG, DS9 or Voyager. Good or not, the characters were memorable and identifiable. But this was just Michael, Saru, the engineers who actually stood out, and a bunch of who cares on the bridge.

Detmer (robot eye) and her fellow pilot friend (I think called Owo) get written out by taking the ISS to a museum.   Aka Poochie died on his way back to his home planet....

As for the finale - it brought a ending to the show, and therefore I'm grateful I'll not have to watch anymore.  I maintain S2 was solid - but as soon as they went to the future (when the show really should have taken off) it went lame.

That’s right…..another dumb story. Let’s send two of the characters we ‘know’ and are supposed ‘family’ off for a cake walk trip to a museum. Why not send the no namers? 100% another decision based on getting certain demographics onscreen rather than just tell a good story.

S2 was good. And that was that.

Well...in this final season they decided to replace the two pilots of Discovery who'd been on the show the whole time with two other actresses....who, how do I say this without being a dick or sounding like a racist <snip>

You don't.  No one looks for nefarious motives when there's a shitty white actor on a show.  No need to do it here, either.

Has nothing to do with the quality of the actress's and everything to do with the shows history of shoehorning in unnecessary political/social agenda points.

There’s a way to tastefully do it as a part of a story and then there’s the way this show did it. One works…..one didn’t.

for those who've never seen this, this is well worth checking out.

Star Trek: The Captain's Summit. Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart and Frakes with Whoopi in 2009.
