Surely theyre going to record the 12 step suite in the next year, which would fit best if they play a nice 3 hour set.
All they need is to play 1 Evening With show in London and I'll be happy at least :p

3 opening acts are too much. I got to know that in the USA, it's quite normal to have so many opening acts - but why?
Having seen DT first in 1993 and then 12 times on all the tours (except on the Octavarium tour, because I did not like the ToT tour at all...), I have to say that 3 hours of DT is too much for me now. They always had great opening acts (though I don't remember the first ones very well or not at all - but that's because of my bad memory and the number of concerts I saw), so I'd prefer them with 1 opening act.

Three opening acts is total suckage. Symphony X only played for about an hour and ten minutes because of three absolutely horrendous opening bands. I paid for Symphony X, not Metallica/Pantera wannabes

Symphony X did not play that short because of opening acts. Yeah, I hate when bands tour the US and have a ton of opening acts, because they are normally shitty local openers, however everything would have been planned over when Symphony X was to go on in order to finish their set in time. I've seen SX 5 or 6 times now, and they've been great every time, but one thing they do not do is play a long show.

Fair enough. But I don't want three hours of shit bands. I had no idea that SX never played for that long... They should at least do an hour and a half, maybe an hour and forty-five minutes

Thoughts?

I personally am excited

Well that settles it.

I AM going to see DT when they next roll through Montreal/Toronto. :metal

Thanks for the tip! :tup

FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK

Yes, I'm excited. This makes the chances of eventually seeing the 12 Step Suite a lot stronger.

I think this had been hinted at when they said they wouldn't be doing a PN tour next time around.

Glad it's been confirmed though.

RafTen

My first concert will be 3 hours of Dream Theater.
Maybe my second too, if I have the money.

May this mean that the next album will be a concept to play in it's entirity during the shows?.

It'll likely be an opportunity to play the 12 steps live.

Zydar

Yeah, and film it for a DVD that puts Score and Budokan to shame.

tri.ad

Great! Now the only thing left is that they drop by in Austria or Southern Germany. :)

Nic35

FUCK YEAHH !!!!

Can't wait for their next show in Quebec and Montreal !

Pockets17red

I was wondering if any of you guys had an idea about the price of a ticket, since I am now going to one in a couple years.  :metal

cyberdrummer

I paid about £30 for London in 2005. I imagine it'll be more like £35-40 now though.

Perpetual Change

Does this necessarily mean they're done touring on Black Clouds?  If so, it's a shame.

Chino

This is the one that isn't coming to the US? If so it

That's a good question, it will be interesting to see if they do a tour prior to recording the next album or not.

In any case this is amazing news. :D

No I think he'd have said "leg" rather than "tour" if that's what he meant. I'm sure he meant the next major tour, which will presumably be in support of their next album.
