That's what I was wondering myself. What if the bigger picture from the treasure hunt was to reveal someone as an outside producer, a guest...and not just the album title or something to that effect?

Yeah.  Awake to FII was close.  But they were touring on Awake, still doing the holiday and Fix for '96 shows, and released ACOS as well. 

In this particular cycle, even though we may not have gotten any actual releases, we got lots in the way of opportunities to see the band live.  As busy as they have been, it's hard to believe it will be 3 years since the last release.

Things were also very different back in the mid-90s since the internet (as we now know it) was barely in its infancy.

The thing of it is that, for most bands, three years between albums would be really quick.  Comparing DT to Rush (which isn't entirely fair given the relative ages of the two bands' members), the last time there was less than three years between Rush albums was between Counterparts and Test for Echo (two years, eleven months), and in the time that DT released everything in its catalog (13 studio albums plus ACoS and 8 live albums), Rush released only 7 studio albums (plus the Feedback EP) and (interestingly, I think) only one fewer live album than DT.

I think it's way too early to have artwork.

Seriously though, it's a pity it was released only in limited edition. I hope they make more copies in the future.. Sorry for going off topic, probably the treasure is something regarding DT14. 99% sure

For god sakes guys try and look more relaxed in these photos than you have managed to over the past 15 years. I feel we've gotten past the "We play metal, let's all look tough and serious" look, but their photos always look so uncomfortable, like they have no idea how to stand, what to do with their arms, etc...  and it makes everyone look awkward. Except JM, who mastered the "I'm just gonna stand here with my poker face and let you take all the pictures you want" look around the time of Awake.

I would think that it's the photographer's job to tell them how to stand. They don't have to pose as models but still I would assume that a photographer would line them up properly and tell them how to stand, rather than just taking a photo with a professional camera of 5 guys who just randomly position themselves in front of the photographer

And about looks, the Octavarium era was the best.

I didn't listen to anything at all from The Astonishing. I refused to watch the trailer or the video for The Gift of Music. I bought the album not having heard a single note or snippet about it. If I feel like it I'll be doing it for the new album as well. The pleasure of a full, unspoiled first experience is priceless.
