Wtf happened with this thread.. It used to be fun and informative.. Now a single photo is uploaded and is just full with the same crappy, predictable and childish comments like you see on yt or fb...

Ok, if you actually and fully read my comment you'll see I'm talking about the silly comments about JP, and not whatever else you're thinking..

Unless you did understand me, and think people are having "fun" by critizicing the look of one of the band members (a "joke" that's getting very old, btw).. In that case, maybe we need to learn the difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone..

I think his current look is among his worst and it only beats Emotrucci by a slim margin:

I think JP looked his best during the ToT days with the short-ish spikey hair and the goatee that was kinda long in the beard:

My next best-look is the same but with longer hair:

But I think we can all agree his all-time worst look was:

He must have only had it like this for one day since it took me forever to even find this photo.

Finally, Bizzarro Petrucci, he just looks like he's had a bad day for the last 20 years:

Geez! What happened to JP in that last pic?!? :rollin

He was exposed to the rains down in africa.

Just what I thougth..... that's not JP that's Steve Lukather

SeRoX

So we heard guitar, keyboard and drum snippets. Wonder if we hear vocals too.

Fritzinger

My favorite JP look was definitely around the time Score was filmed..

Frankly, you thought I was serious? I know it's Steve Lukather. And yes, the haircut is a consequence of being overexposed to the rains in Africa. :rollin

I think you need to lighten up. When there's real info to talk about, obviously, we will.

I don't need anyone telling me how I should "need" to be.. But don't worry, I'm cool.. This is just a forum after all (at least for me), I'm relatively not very active, and it only takes a very little portion of my time to read it and write on it.. I was just expressing an opinion, and not exactly against ppl randomly talking off-topic for the lack of info (which it was/is fun indeed), but exclusively reacting to some complaining -yet once again- about JP's look and even someone saying they stand awkwardly in the photos they make!..

ToT-147

 :lol

Naah, hahaa.. Show's over, nothing to see here..

Let the JP-beard drama continue...

Cool Chris

Who is Steve Lukather? I thought that last picture was the Alien Conspiracy dude (and I honestly have no idea who this guy is or why he comes up when I Google Image search "Alien Conspiracy Dude.")

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

In that case I don't really see how the album is planned for early 2019 release. I think they'll release it a bit earlier (or at least hope so).

Nah, early 2019 is about right.

If they just finished recording, they will probably spend the next month or so in mixing and mastering. That'll put them with a finished master around mid to late October. Typically promo cycle for an album starts a few months out, so they might do a single in November or December and then release the record in January or February.

Just realized this will be the longest gap between albums since WDADU-IAW.

If the release is in January.

bosk1

I would guess January or February.  The earliest we could possibly expect based on where they are would be December, and even if things progressed really quickly to allow that, I doubt they would release just before Christmas.

goo-goo

December is usually a slow month for music releases so bands and labels typically avoid December.

Late January, early February makes sense.

fadetoblackdude7

So it's safe to say we can expect the title/artwork/track listing/first single sometime in November?

I didn't realize that either. Wow. They have really been at this pace of write/record/tour, repeat for that long now? Crazy.

I've never understood that.  It seems like releasing music in December would be perfect for holiday shopping.  In the old days, half of my shopping was picking up albums for people, and a lot of the rest was making mix tapes.  To this day, a section of my Christmas Wish List always includes CDs and concert DVDs.

Or don't people buy music for each other anymore?

bosk1

People just don't have the time, Orbert.

I totally agree with this, I never understood this trend of not wanting to release music in December either. Seems like it would be perfect.

It's already been the longest gap between albums since WDaDU-I&W (the gap between Awake and FII was two years eleven months, but we got ACoS during that time, so I don't really count that).

Say what you want about DT, but they're prolific!  TA was released in January 2016, so a January 2019 release for DT14 would be about three years.  Other than the gap between WDaDU and I&W, the longest we've had to wait between albums was two years and four months between DT12 and TA (and we got two live video releases during that gap).  It's rather amazing that, between October 1999 and June 2005 (five years and eight months), we got SFaM, SDoIT, ToT and 8VA.  Talk about a Golden Era!

bosk1

Yeah.  Awake to FII was close.  But they were touring on Awake, still doing the holiday and Fix for '96 shows, and released ACOS as well.

In this particular cycle, even though we may not have gotten any actual releases, we got lots in the way of opportunities to see the band live.  As busy as they have been, it's hard to believe it will be 3 years since the last release.
