I'd say 3 hours is quite optimistic!

I had a dream last night that I saw the setlist and the opener was...Along for the Ride - if it turns out to be that I'll be a bit freaked out  :lol There was also no ACOS or 8VM - I really hope that one doesn't come true!
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

I feel like it's Stream of Consciousness + Vacant as an opener.

w_marano

My bet goes to The Count of Tuscany as the opener!

Or Vacant + SoC.. :lol

But either way, THAT would be outstanding..

Now I think they'll open with TDEN. It's a song fron SC (10th anniv.), they've played it before with MM on the ADTOE tour, would work great as an opener, and it's one of Mangini's favorite Portnoy songs to play (he's said it a couple times). To me, that's as clear as it gets  ;D

TheAtliator

My guess for opener is Endless Sacrifice. Just imagine a DT concert opening with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZPRdN5XCpI

That would be epic and a nice opener. Comes in soft, then it  hits. Then JLB enters saying hello "city"

Oh god that was immensely boring. Maybe it's because I don't like the song in general, but that seems to be a prime example of the click track working against them. The whole time I just kept thinking "SPEED UP FOR THE LOVE OF MOORE"

One more hint about the opening song:  I am listening to it right now.

Tell us exactly when the song is over, so we can calculate the duration of the song. ;D

Duration is less than 25 minutes.
Oh then i think i know which one. It's the one that's longer than 1 minute right?

TheAtliator

I'm going to make one modification that would be awesome:

I am listening to Epica now.  And...that is actually sort of a hint too.  But probably not in the way you all think.

No it's Never Enough.

Sure of it now. "Recent years" does not mean only Mangini

I lost track, but didn't he say a fan favorite? Of all DT songs, I think Never Enough least qualifies.

Crowd pleaser I think. And I think that can qualify.

If Never Enough qualifies as a crowd pleaser, then so does literally every single DT song including Raw Dog.

Lark the Starless

Personally, I don't think Never Enough would be enough of a "crowd pleaser," let alone an opener.

My gut says it'll be "The Spirit Carries On."

thosava

I was wondering when we should even hope to know the setlist? Will Bosk be able to tell us before the tour, or do we have to wait until the first concert of the 2017 tour to find out?

TheAtliator

Well, either Endless Sacrifice or Never Enough is my guess. Maybe NE is the more obvious hint that is misleading.

I see: a Red hair singer and as it is part of TA tour I think they start with A New Beginning

Cool Chris

Never Enough? Good lord why? It's not a bad song, but I'd rather hear them play Epica's Never Enough.

Endless Sacrifice always slays live, but would not be a good opener.
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

TheAtliator

DT is now reading this forum and rethinking their choice  :lol
