OMG OMG OMG - Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - Super hyped!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (not talking about the supposed leak - first of all, chances for it being a fake are over 99% - second: I'm not gonna listen to anything before the album comes out, especially since this is expected to be a concept).

Do you think their homepage is slowly changing, or it's me?

This must be like the forum equivalent of gathering outside somewhere, waiting for news. We've been here for a while. Someone should provide snacks or something.  :corn  :corn  :corn  :corn

Ok what about the riff JP plays at 10:40 in this Guitar Center video? It came out earlier this year. Doesn't sound like a random filler to me, or maybe I am just being too hopeful.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao9JIdNXJ5Q

Do you think its in the album?

AboutToCrash

At this point, given the slight delay I anticipate either a concept album/double album/double concept album or something completely different for them. I think double is most possible but a sci fi themed concept album given the artwork of past albums and video of false awakening suite live showing the artwork slowly zooming out in to a bigger picture so we may get a galaxy or planet system as the artwork at least if that's what they're going for. Then again DT's self titled didn't really any content to do with space at all. So it's kind of tough to predict  :o

BTW, if anything does get leaked and you post it here, you will be gone.

So you either get banned, or best case there's the 99% chance it's totally fake and you'll look like a gullible fool for being tricked by the oldest trick in the book that's done every time DT (or any bigger band) is releasing an album for some easy views or self promotion. Basically, don't do it.
And they've just started mixing, so the chance of anything legit at this stage is 0% anyway.

I don't think the track sounds like Dream Theater at all. It sounds more like something that would have been on JP's solo album.

Tomislav95

I really think album could have some sci-fi related lyrics. WWRD, right? I'd like to hear something like that but at the same time I think they could fail with it (fantasy themed lyrics on SC are not their best). There is still hope they will surprise us all with this one, they are not silent for no reason (or they are :P ).

Maybe it's a demo. Or maybe somebody's just messing with us.
Of course it's someone messing with us. This happens every album cycle, and it's ALWAYS instrumental snippets because nobody is able to replicate JLB's voice.

As hef says, if there was even a chance it was real it would be deleted and the person would be banned.

I'm still caught up with the website and social media changes. It seems like a very interesting concept. Sort of reminds me of two things:

"we interrupt this program" type of a feel or an effect of the guys "losing signal" or something like that.

Very interesting. Oh, man. I hope we get news in the next day or two.

edit: Apparently some people are already pointing out the ending static of Finally Free and linking it to the new warped website/social media accounts.

They also often use snippets from Mullmuzzler or some JLB side project, because they're pretty obscure, and even people who are familiar with all of DT's music are often fooled by it because of JLB's voice.

I loved that line "CRUCIFYYYY!  RESIST DENYYYYY!" from that song Octavarium.  That was cool.

Maybe this is a transitional image and they put up the new album cover next in a couple of days?

Right! :)

Artwork in a couple of days!!!  I had really resigned myself to no updates for much longer.  I'm glad I don't have to wait.

I was thinking more the "transitional image" part of that, but I certainly hope we won't have to wait too long for news.

BlobVanDam

I'd think that if it was only a matter of days, they'd just have waited until they had that ready. I think it's probably more likely a few weeks. It does seem they're far enough along to have some kind of theme though.

While this is the less excited i've ever been for a DT release, i'm still hyped for the new album. I hope it fixes all the problems i had with DT12, or i see myself being even more disconnected from the band...

Funny story. When I got married, we were going to walk in to I Walk Beside You. The DJ must have downloaded the song from somewhere because when we walked into the wedding reception, the song was from James LaBrie's solo CD.
