And btw, do they actually show Myung this time around? Maybe it was just me, but I feel I did not see him a lot in LALP.

They easily could focus on him more, that's for sure. Still, you get to see his fancy footwork with the pedals on The Enemy Inside--which is pretty cool. For the most part, he's only on screen for short moments unless he's lined up with JP for the patented dual-metal-attack or if he's rockin' out with Mangini.

Progressive Metal Fusion

Just picked up a copy from my local store! (there were only 2 copies, I'm a lucky man  :D)

Now I'm going to listen the whole thing, and as soon I've finished I'll post my thoughts.
I'm really excited!  :metal

My only complaint is that for the DVD version, set 1 is on the first disc, and set 2 + encore is on the second disc. The whole thing is great aside from that one downside.

It sucks not having a record store in our city.

Yes, but as the old song goes, you've got livestock and leather furniture.

???  Why is that a downside?

I dunno, I don't see it as a downside. I've ordered the DVD-version and when I'll be watching it with friends we'll go for the first set, have a little break then (grab a beer, get some food or something) and then proceed with the second set. This way we don't even have to pause it or anything, just change the discs and it's all great.

Because you'd need to change discs to watch the whole show, instead of being able to watch it through in one sitting without having to change discs. While it is minor, it is a slight inconvenience.

The Curious Orange

And you don't even get the YouTube montage to relieve the monotony...

Anyone purchase the mp3 only option from Roadrunner?  I still haven't been able to access the download - no emails, nothing showing up in my RR account.  Picked up the BR from Best Buy this morning - the sound and picture are both perfect.  Whatever formula they used this time around, they should stick with it.

I don't see any problem. Just have one of the hostage change discs for you after she finishes making your drink and sammich.

Amiright?

Ah, my good ole life.

I also ask them to dance for me in an arabesque fashion during Illumination Theory's intro. The chains make it feel real.

Podaar

Speaking of dancing. Did anyone notice when JLB said, "Who can dance to the Mirror?"  :lol

DarkLord_Lalinc

Yeah, that was amazing.

"You people dancing way in the back too... I'm loving it!"

"....how the hell do you dance to The Mirror"?

I love his casual on-stage banter  :lol

Yeah, that was it! I knew I had it wrong.

DarkLord_Lalinc

I love his sporadic funny comments, like the super-glue thing from LSFNY.

Fourth wall > Luna Park.

This one looks a lot less like a school disco / TV concert.

And yes. It actually sounds live.

EDIT:  Someone illegally uploaded part of the DVD, and I broke the forum rules by posting a link to it.

Posting officially released material is a clear violation of forum rules.  This is your first and last warning on the subject.

Oh and I didn't know that John Petrucci wrote Scenes From a Memory when he was 15  :P :P

I must say that the performance of "Space-Dye Vest" was the highlight of the DVD for me.  It was a killer performance.  So tender.  And the spoken-word samples added such a haunting vibe.  When the full-band came in and Mangini blasted the drums, I had instant chills.  So epic and intense.  Honestly, I never thought SDV would be such an awesome live song.  They definitely did the song justice and performed it beautifully.  Thanks for the gift of SDV, DT!

Still no mp3 download link..cc billed but no link.come on RR..still pissed

Anguyen92

All right, my order has been shipped.  It says the estimated delivery date is tomorrow.  Ehhh, as long as I get it sometime before the weekend, it's cool.

Kotowboy

I like Mangini playing Trad Grip on "Breaking All Illusions".

I always found playing trad grip was conducive to playing softly. I liked to switch back and forth too.

erwinrafael

It's now available in HD Tracks! So I guess the mp3 download link would already be available too. :)
