But this time - there really is no point.

There's usually always a reason to.

Just the album again in a mix I can't listen to ? No.

Can't listen to?  The way I see it, for a minor price bump between the standard edition and Deluxe with the 5.1 mix you may as well get it.  If you ever end up with a 5.1 or better stereo you'll have it on hand other than having to by the whole thing again...

The only way I can see it, the only way it has 0 value to you is if you NEVER EVER intend to buy a surround sound system.. and that's _JUST WEIRD_.

You haven't missed anything. That's a negatory on the instrumental mixes.

I guess having two instrumentals (and an epic with possibly instrumental movements/sections) kept them from having an instrumental mix of the whole album.

I didn't own a record player when I got the ADTOE box set. But it actually prompted me to get one.

Nothing wrong with that... I own a lot of DT LPs (everything except WDADU and Live at Marquee, because screw WDADU and the Marquee LP is pretty expensive and not worth that much imo), but I don't have a record player either.

Got the full box set, just like the last few to come out.  Not really sure why, although being able to play the 5.1 on my system plus the documentary and stems makes it a fairly easy one for me.  It's only money, right?

That's pretty messed up. But it you want to risk preordering something so disorganized, I'd say go for the $22 version, not only is the price more indicative, but under product details, it lists 2 discs, whereas the "Deluxe Edition" only lists 1 disc.

I finally preordered the standard edition. 14,99€ +3 € shipping. Not really cheap, but not too bad either.

I personally ordered the deluxe edition. I didn't really need the 5.1 mix (that being the only thing special about the edition made it pretty weak in that respect IMO) because I don't have that kind of system yet, but a pre-order discount plus another discount which got rid of the shipping cost had it costing only like $1,50 more than the standard edition (I ordered it from a website based in my own country, I should add), so I figured why not.

I once pre-ordered something from Amazon. After weeks and weeks of not delivering it (not only to me, but to ANY of their customers) they kindly informed me that they haven't gotten the shipment of the product yet. So I kindly cancelled my pre-order and vowed to never pre-order from them again. Unless it's already out and they say they have it in stock, I don't trust them.
