I think I can assume, but I want to be clear on this:

Is the LE Box Set only available through the RR and DT websites or is it going to be made available to the public through retail outlets as well?

Which one is the deluxe?

https://www.amazon.com/Dream-Theater/dp/B00DJ80VMM/ref=tmm_acd_title_1

That's pretty messed up. But it you want to risk preordering something so disorganized, I'd say go for the $22 version, not only is the price more indicative, but under product details, it lists 2 discs, whereas the "Deluxe Edition" only lists 1 disc.

looks like Amazon has corrected the labeling.  The one that says Deluxe Edition now shows 2 discs and the regular listing only shows one.

However the deluxe edition is almost $5 cheaper  :lol   I pre-ordered today.

Just went to buy the deluxe version on RoadRunner's website, and it's $6.99 for shipping within the U.S.?  Doesn't that seem steep?  So that would cost be $27.28 total.  I'm thinking of ordering through Amazon instead, but like you guys said it's not clear which is the deluxe.  Amazon seems to be selling the deluxe for $13.85, so why would RR be selling the deluxe for $19.99?  Why is their website $6 more?

MSRP (retail) versus discounted pricing.

The $13.85 on on Amazon is labeled as deluxe with 2 discs in the information section.  I'd love to see the Box set pop up on Amazon... I don't want to pay $15 or whatever RoadRunner wants to ship the thing.

Mebert78

OK, just ordered the deluxe through Amazon.  It was $13.85, plus $3.98 for shipping, for a total of $19.36.  Meanwhile, Roadrunner sold the same item for $19.99, plus $6.99 for shipping, for a total of $27.28.  RR is offering a digital download of the album as part of the deluxe CD, which I guess accounts for the extra $8.  Seems like a slick way to get some extra $$$ out of fans who aren't paying attention, if you ask me.

You should have just bought enough to get you over $25 on amazon for free shipping. No sense (IMO) throwing 3.98 away on shipping when you could use that toward another disc you wanted (to get to $25)...

liran95

I got mine for £15.28. I think that's the cheapest, isn't it?

EDIT: Incl. worldwide ship.

Can't find that anywhere either. Anyone care to clarify?

The others were available via other outlets if I remember right.

Just to clarify: I just want to order the box set, but not through dt's official store. I'd like to pick one up, at my local retailer the day it comes out. But will I be able to do that, or will they just be available through the site and that's it?

I think you should ask the store.

Still a rip-off. Amazon gives you free mp3 version with the purchase of a new CD, maybe even before it arrives in the mail.

RaiseTheKnife

Just pre-ordered the box set.  $122 (US) with shipping and taxes.  I have no use for the vinyl or the 5.1 mix.  The stems and the documentary are cool, though.

This album is not marked Auto-Rip eligible at this time.. so it's unlikely.

RaiseTheKnife

My impression from the roadrunner box set purchase is that the link to download the album will be active on 9/24.

I'm pretty sure that they'll do that on release day.

Once you purchase the box set you will see a link to download The Enemy Inside and one link to download the album, which will become active on 9/20 (Germany ).

Warner charged me for my box set today and then credited me.

Yeah, I think I'll just try walking into a Best Buy the day the record comes out. I'm sure I'll be able to get it there on release day for around $9.99-12.99.

I've had plenty of preorders show autorip eligible long before release day.  Then on release day they show up in the cloud player.

I don't have enough free time to read all 7 pages of this thread so can someone tell me if the special edition comes with the same 28-page booklet that the standard edition has?

Grizz

So, does the vinyl on Amazon come with the FLAC files too, or am I going to have to pirate buy a digital version separately?
Piracy reference was sarcastic, nonspecific, and did not give a hint to how to illegally obtain an album. If, despite this, this a breach of rule 2a, I apologize and will modify my post accordingly upon reception of notice.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it has the booklet..  But In my case, I won't be even buying the special edition.  I don't need that 5.1 mix

The lossless files for Dream Theater - Dream Theater are included with the vinyl that comes with the limited edition deluxe box. You can also buy the vinyl (with the FLAC files) separately. Click this link to get to the pre-order.

The HD FLAC tracks for ADTOE were released on hdtracks.com so perhaps they'll be available separately there.

snapple

I pre-ordered on the first day, and my payment is just hanging in my pending transactions. Any idea if this is just happening until the day they process it for shipping?

This is what I'm hoping for. I'll be picking up the standard edition, but if I can get ahold of the FLAC tracks separately that'd be great. I have no need for a vinyl or a 5.1 mix, however cool that would be.

Fiery Winds

I pre-ordered the collectors edition, since I have the BC&SL and ADTOE collectors edition as well, and would like to have a nice set.
