In the Name of God is an awesome song and Train of Thought in general is a really solid album IMO.

1. In the Name of God
2. This Dying Soul
3. Stream of Consciousness
4. Endless Sacrifice
5. Vacant
6. As I Am
7. Honor Thy Father

Honor thy Father may be last, but I still think it's an enjoyable song.

Nekov

Probably the one song I really enjoy on TOT. There are other good songs on the album but this one is consistent all the way through.

Oh, and you siged me  :heart. b_f will not be amused though  :P

ITNOG is a great song, and it is single-handedly responsible for getting me into DT.  :tup

Btw, just checked and I saw that I have at #7 as well.

You people are wrong and In the Name of God is amazing.

You are wise well beyond your years. :tup ITNOG is top 5 for me easily (very hard for me to separate the top ones).

Although he has had me sigged in the past, I thought his sig was a senecadawg post before yours became the new one since I recently made a thread about how I had BIZKIT sigged, he had seneca sigged, and seneca had me sigged thus making the three of us full homo for each other. /no homo

Blob, don't steal my line, dammit!

Which line did I steal? I usually assume I'm pretty safe from sharing opinions with people here. :lol

Scorpion

I made the exact same comment about Jaffa being wise beyond his years like, a week ago or something. Wasn't sure whether you knew, so it was just a playful jab anyway.  :P

FlyingBIZKIT

My previous sig's:

(now) Nekov
before that: Jaffa (though it was just me messing with his user title)
before that: Senecafuckingdawg2000
before that: some dude that likes shallots and goat shit or something.

I like to change it up, YA know?

6. Disappear

This right here is DT's saddest song, and one of their most beautiful. I do think this song is very unique, because of all the weird sounds that go on throughout the song. It has grown on me a alot, and become one of my favorites. just ol' JP playin on his geetar. Really though, James sounds fucking powerful in this song. The chorus is haunting, yet beautiful as can be. I think MP did a nice job spicing up the song with his ODD TIMES. One of the best parts in DT's discography is the "So I'm moving on.." section. James truly shines there, and it is easily one of his best moments. Though, I have one I like better  :P. This song is magical, and sad as fuck at the same time. Zantera would be proud.

Wasn't aware you said it, at least consciously, so I guess our little Jaffa is just growing up. Time flies so quickly.  :'(

And another great pick with Disappear. For me it's DT's most emotional and beautiful ballad, along with Vacant. :tup

Jaffa

 :blush

Disappear is a great song.  For a long time I didn't really 'get' it; it didn't click for me until quite recently, actually.  I still don't like it this much, but it's a better song than I ever gave it credit for, and if I were to redo my top 50, it would probably have a place in the 30-40 range somewhere.   :tup

So guys, what's my top 5?

The rest of SDOIT? I'm not actually keeping track, but it better be that. :p

No comment, as I'm pretty sure at this point I know the exact list, if not the exact order.

Nekov

I never understood the love for that song. Easily my least favorite

6. Disappear

A truly great and moving song. The last part (So I move along...) never fails to send shivers down my spine.  :tup

I'm so happy to see Disappear in someone's top 10. Their best ballad.

Something along these lines, though Trial of Tears is a bit more likely than Misunderstood, imo.

senecadawg2

Disappear is a worthy 6. top 5 includes: misunderstood, Blind Faith, SDOIT, and 2 more. Trial of Tears... and, ACOS

Disappear is great. Definitely not top 10 material though. There are plenty of much better DT songs that you haven't listed like Forsaken and Constant Motion. And of course, Dance of Eternity.

Even though I was being completely serious.

Disappear is great, very sad indeed.

Hey Hef could you take me off the list? I may reenter when I actually have a list.

And now, the glorious top 5:

5. Beneath the Surface

It's rated pretty damn high, and I think it is fucking beautiful. Another song that has actually brought me to tears on several occasions. When hearing about ADTOE, I was really excited for this one, and when they released the snippet, I knew it would be my favorite from ADTOE and one of my all time favorites. People say ADTOE should have had BAI close it out, but I think this works even better. Labrie's vocals here are beautiful, and so is JP's playing. The lyrics can relate to many situations I've had in the past, and maybe that's part of why I love this song. I like this, because the lyrics are sad as hell, but the music sounds hopeful, and kind of happy. The chorus is one of their best of all time, and Jordan's solo just adds so much to this.  This is their best song since Six Degrees, I tell you. I was listening to the instrumental version of this, and it made me realize how beautiful the music itself is. This song will always have special meaning to me, and I will always love it like I do.  :heart

Scorpion

Beneath the Surface.  :heart

Not quite that high up for me, but it's a very good song, and such a phenomenal album closer. Sad, and yet hopeful, in a sense. I couldn't get enough of it, back when ADTOE came out.

Anyway, great pick and keep it up! Though my predictions are now ruined of course...

Beneath the Surface.  :heart

I'm going through some stuff right now that makes this song really hit home some days. :heart
Look at all us freaks cluttering your city streets
Still scalping their ticket-less applause
Spun monkeys on the railroad track, take me to the caine field; I walk along pick my spiderbite
Basically Kyoko Kirigiri
