This song probably took me the longest of any SDOIT song to appreciate, but now I really love it. Great choice. And how awesome is that fast bluesy guitar lead going into the solo? :metal

Jaffa

I've never really been able to get into Blind Faith that much.  It's still a really cool song, I just don't get the magic from it that so many others seem to get.

Nekov

:heart :heart :heart :heart :heart Blind Faith!!! It's great so see the recognition it deserves

Can I get a spot on the OP list? Thanks in advance.
:tup
Thanks (again)!

Blind Faith is a great choice, I would rank it pretty high as well.

I agree. Definitely the weak spot on SDOIT for me. The only thing I really like is the piano break. Maybe it's the chorus that bugs me.

TheGreatPretender

Unlike The Great Debate, in Blind Faith's case, the agonizingly slow intro is actually worth sitting through for the kick ass payoff.

Excellent song, of course. Anything from SDOIT is an adept top ten contender, I've realized.

Even I wasn't this bad with my SFAM selections, haha.

I just started writing a list, and I want to put almost every song which made the cut into my top 15. Daim.

This is why when I started making my list I had to create an semi-objective rating scale to differentiate between songs that are very close in my mind.

Scorpion

Blind Faith is the best song from SDOIT, and while I'd rank it a little lower, it's nevertheless a truly great song. The whole instrumental section is bonerific.

Fourth Horseman

I don't like TGD or Disappear, however Blind Faith is amazing :P

2. Hell's Kitchen/Lines in the Sand

Yes, I combined them, blah blah, but Lines in the Sand is my 2nd favorite song, and adding Hell's Kitchen before it gives it a nice intro. Hell's Kitchen is the best instrumental DT has made, and it sets a great tone for Lines in the Sand. It's not a crazy ass solofest, it's just simple and melodic. I do love when they play the ending to Hell's Kitchen on L@B. Those bells give me goosebumps  :heart. Anyway, off to Lines in the Sand. The intro is sick, and this is Sherinian's best work with DT. I love the riffs in this song, they are heavy, and funky at the same time. MP's drumming is spectacular as well, along with JM's funkarific bass. This is probably JP's best lyric work here, I think. Anyway, this song is killer. The chorus is marvelous, and Doug's vocals are wondrous. The verses in between are singalongable, and they give me a great vibe. Ah, here we are, the solo. JP's second best solo he's ever done, as it is one of the most sensational solos I've ever put my ears to. Sherinian's piano melodies just make it even more dramatic. I love the part after the solo...great, great moment for James. Especially when he yells, "Sometimes, a view from sinless eyeeees!" and so on.  That leads into yet another dazzling chorus. This song is a very unique one, and it is the best from Falling into Infinity.

Hell's Kitchen! Such an uplifting song. I think of waking up early, before twilight, and running up a huge hill, reaching the peak as the sun rises. That's how the song makes me feel.

theseoafs

For how much your numbers 20-40 pissed me off, I really like your top ten :lol Great choice.

Scorpion

Yessss! Someone else who combines them! Two great songs, which I only listen back-to-back to. Lines in the Sand is indeed stellar, especially lyrically, and that solo is pure genius. Actually, the only thing that I disagree with is

- that title belongs to Eve, imho. However, Hell's Kitchen's great as well, so I won't complain to much.  :)

SeRoX

Oh wow! Never saw that coming but it's a good place and LITS is a bit underrated song. Though its chorus is kinda cheesy. Hell's Kitchen, on the other hand, is great.

SomeoneLikeHim

If SDOIT isn't number 1 now i'm gonna be pisses. I bet it is though.

TheGreatPretender

Lines in the sand is pretty cool, nothing amazing though. And Hell's Kitchen is probably their least interesting instrumental, aside from Erotomania. And if anything, it should be combined with Burning My Soul, since the two used to be one and the same.

And yeah, we all know that Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence will be #1. Makes the list seem kind of backwards.

Yes. But Lines in the Sand is too high now. Well, nice top 50 it was. I enjoyed reading it. :)

Why do y'all think SDOIT will be number 1?  ???

There is absolutely no proof that I like SDOIT  :)

Well, it is better than the title track on 6 Degrees.
