So I'm getting my first DSLR in the mail this monday (as long as UPS doesn't change their mind). Ordered myself the Nikon D3100 in a bundle with two lenses (18-55mm kit lens and a 55-200mm VR Lens). Very, very excited to start making use of this bad boy once I get my hands on it.
I have a few ideas for some projects I want to work on, but was wondering if DTF had any ideas for what I can do to make the most out of my journey into practicing and immersing myself into the world of photography.
Ooo new camera! I'm exited for you.
I always find that just having a goal orr specific thing you want to photograph helps enormously. I'm no expert but i seem to take better shots and have more fun this way as opposed to wandering around shooting everything. But then that's great too, observational photography is great, walk a route you walk often and shoot everything, street signs, road markings, shadows, reflections. Even the bins. Play with composition and shapes. Fun
I also like to use
https://www.dpchallenge.com/ They run weekly challenges, there's usualy about 4 at any one time, just for fun and bragging rights but it could give you some focus(lol). There's an active anf friendly community there and folks often share how they got their photo.
Hope this helps, even just a lil bit.
