That WON'T be an issue this time! :metal

Heh, the graphic says they are playing some place called Biloxi, Michigan.

why is the Dallas show not showing up in a lot of these lists? Is it because it's an AXS show instead of TM/LiveNation?

Anyone else a bit worried about James? Best I could tell, there aren't any 2 night off stretches, dude gets 1 night off at most between shows and is often doing 2-3 shows in a row until March.

trying not to think about it. This tour schedule is intense even for a band of guys in their 20's.

Aerosmith tried to do this and it ended up sidelining Steven Tyler in perpetuity...

Oh for sure.  And unless I missed it, I haven't seen anything from the band regarding his voice. Has he been getting therapy/doctored for his vocal cords? Has he been working with any vocal specialists?  How is his vocals going for the album?  It seems, to me at least, all quiet on the western front and we are all going to not be shocked when night 1 he sounds the same as Dreamsonic.

But honestly, I'm not sure how they can record any show if he isn't significantly improved unless the plan is to fix it all in studio after the fact.  Waiting for the final date of the tour is not likely going to help his voice for a possible RCMH recording.

That's as good a guess as any, and I do recall that the codes are always different for Nextstage.

Has anybody been able to get an idea of pricing yet?

Quote from: El Barto on September 10, 2024, 11:09:10 AMYeah, it's conspicuously on a Saturday night. Seriously, I bet they film it. The only thing working against it is they're playing the night before. CW says that you take a night or two off before you film a gig.
Yeah, I was surprised there was a show the night before in DC. In 2006, they had the night before off; I'm sure they used it to rehearse with the orchestra. I'm still hopeful for a filming.

Yeah. Stupidly expensive.

TM/LN won't ever provide a face value. They simply cost whatever they decide to charge for them. AXS might have a real face, but they won't share it until they go on sale. In any case, DT is always pricey. They carry a lot of gear and they usually play places too big for them (like Nextstage).

Just a guess, but I'd expect ~$120+TT&L for the good seats.

IIRC, in 06 they cancelled at least one show in the lead up to Score. Maybe two. This was ostensibly to give JLB a rest (and boy did it do him well).

I would be thrilled if it's at that price point. Kind of a blessing in disguise that the Dallas show presale is a day after the rest, I'll have an idea what pricing looks like

Yeah, they cancelled Detroit, and MP was pretty clear that it was to save James. I was shitting a brick because Boston was the night before RCMH, and I thought for sure we'd get the axe too. Thankfully we didn't. And James was amazing that night as well. The boot totally supports how awesome James was.

And this is why I'll take a look tomorrow and see what's available, but I'm likely just going to grab something in the back at the end of the day.  DT has been front row or last row type of band for me, pricing is one of the reasons, but also, the way the crowd sits too.

If you click through the "buy offer" thing, whatever that is, it lists the correct presale date as tomorrow 0900. Same as everybody else, unfortunately.

Oh, but don't assume that the best tickets will be at the presale. Often times they're not.

Utah. They were going to celebrate Dream Theater day in Utah and they had to cancel. It would have broken their (then) limit of no more than three nights in a row. Salt Lake City would've the fourth night. They got their day in '07 or '08, I believe.

If I find good seats I'll buy them, and if I don't I won't. They won't come close to selling out the local gig, and I suspect I've got a bit of time to figure out RCMH. Under the circumstances they stand a good chance of selling it out, but it won't be a Taylor Swift 12 minute kind of deal.

Also, at RCMH is the pit in play? It shows up on the seating chart, but I don't recall it actually being a thing.

I know Biloxi, MS well (have an annual conference I attend down there). I'm guessing this is the first time DT have played in Mississippi.

The box office at the Capitol Theatre (Wheeling, WV) quoted me the following:

  • orchestra pit: 159.50
  • rest of floor: 92.50, 72.50, 57.50, 47.50
  • loge: 92.50
  • rest of balcony: 72.50, 57.50, 47.50

I am so hyped! I've never seen Portnoy with DT! And I am meeting my best friend in Vegas for one show. (I turned her on to DT and she is a Real fan). Then here at home with my son and hubby. Preshow, VIP, concert - DT Day in Reno!. Then, I'm driving to Salt Lake to see them with another new girlfriend I met in Denver at a Preshow. Lots of Dream Theater and spending time with my favorite people! :heart  :metal

Very nice. I will be getting my ticket tomorrow. Looking forward to a great show despite some mixed feelings about it.

I am not worried in the slightest. The situation is highly unlikely to deteriorate beyond what was presented last time around. He'll have had plenty of time to train for this. He's no newbie. Actually I think the worst has already been realized and the performance risk is skewed to the upside.

Quote from: zappafrank2112 on September 10, 2024, 08:48:22 AMWhoever makes the decision to announce a show with pre-sale the following day and onsale 3 days later really needs to cut that shit out (and this is directed to the industry at large).  And it would be nice if you could easily find the pricing breakdown ahead of time.

This is just a guess here, but No Philly or Radio City Ticket will be less than $100 for the nose bleeds. Not going to blame the band as this IS an industry wide problem at the corporate level. It's the cost of doing business.

ytserush

Quote from: El Barto on September 10, 2024, 10:48:21 AMOddly non-conducive to travel. A reasonable person might want to catch several shows up North, but they're all over the place. A week between Boston/Oakdale and NYC is certainly a PITA.

Seems like a good chance they film RCMH. I wouldn't mind getting in on that.

Recording Radio City seems very logical. They'll be a well oiled machine by then.

I'm going to upwards of $150 + monopoly fees. We'll see who's closer soon enough.

My guess is those are the least expensive tickets on this leg. We shall see.

I could see the tour opener in Philly and then the finale back home in NYC!

gzarruk

As I mentioned in another thread, there's a (slim) chance I might be visiting NYC in early 2025, but nothing's sure yet, so I can't just go ahead and get tickets whenever the sale starts. What are the odds of it selling out before the end of the year? :-\
