Quote from: Chino on September 11, 2024, 07:10:00 AMI was confused. Presale at The Met isn't until tomorrow.

I just bought Met tickets and didn't need to put in a presale code - I did however watch all the seats I wanted disappear one by one, until I grabbed the last pair of super insanely expensive box seats

My daughter is leaving for a semester abroad on Feb 14, so we thought she'd miss this tour with me - but this worked out perfectly, so I was willing to go a little bananas for premium seats - I raised this kid on Dream Theater, she's been on stage with them, so the first US date with Portnoy back ws going to be a can't-miss for us

Yeah I think it's the Dynamic Pricing stuff, I got lucky since I bought my tickets right after they went on sale (2 tickets with fees were $240 for front row Balcony).

I literally watched the timer roll over to zero and all I ever saw was the platinum seats.

I did notice in Raleigh that full row of pit seats were newly made available 20 minutes into the presale.  In fact, when i first logged in, nothing in the pit was available, then checked back later to find a new row opened up.  I wonder if it is a deliberate thing to discourage scalpers.

Were yours platinum? It would say on your confirmation email what type of ticket you purchased.  What's annoying about Dynamic pricing is that if you're one of the first buyers, you might get lucky with a reasonable price. but once people start buying, prices go up because of "high demand". I hate that it exists, and though it sucks to hear, the bands/management have a say in whether or not dynamic pricing is enabled.

So, I think they realized they messed up pre-sales because now it is asking for a code, and a lot more tickets are available, though they are still expensive.

Some seats are showing for $55 though

Yeah, check now, tickets are even cheaper than when I got them.

And no, mine were not Platinum seats.

Quote from: Progmaniac1988 on September 11, 2024, 07:30:44 AMWow tickets sold fast!

In a fraction of a millisecond, my grasp on 102 section tickets fell out of my hand and now I am in the 200's. I can't believe this, I have never had such bad seats for anything in my life, my pride is crushed. This cannot be my husband's Christmas present now, unless I get him a second show. Awful! He's ok with it but now I don't even want to go.

I just saw that happen as well. I snagged a Row A, Seat 1 in Orchestra 8 for $108.

Get excited, there are no bad seats in Wallingford!!

Samsara

Got my tickets for February. This will be my 16th, and possibly final time seeing Dream Theater (16 is more than enough, unless a future bill really looks appealing) from 1998-2025, and I am really excited to have the classic lineup back together.
My books available for purchase on Amazon:

Jason Slater: For the Sake of Supposing
Roads to Madness: The Touring History of Queensrÿche (1981-1997)

OpenYourEyes311

In for Boston and NYC! PSYCHED! Definitely want to pick up CT at a later date if I can. Maybe Philly too, if it can work out.

jk47

I had a minor palpatation because my CC flagged the purchase as fraud, figured I'd lose the seats but I was able to get it completed before it kicked me to the back of the line.

Chino

I don't think they open the 200s in Wallingford. The venue usually has the wings and balcony closed when DT comes through. Unless they're in 203-207, which will be absolutely fine at that venue. It's got a killer sound system as well.

This will be my 3rd time seeing DT (if the Astonishing tour counts), 4th time seeing MP, but first time seeing MP with DT.

After a bit of stressing and sweating, I landed some decent seats for Chicago. I just wanted to get it over and done with, and now I can relax haha

Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Yes, horrid, that's the section. I feel like giving them away for free as they are all but worthless.

I still see tickets for the 100 section though? Of course a bit pricey but plenty of tickets.

Also, Those 200 seats are perfectly fine at this venue. Not worthless at all.

I am apparently going to the show at Radio City  This'll be my second time after the Score show. Goes to show the impact MP's return has on me personally.

Stadler

I bought a ticket for NYC and Wallingford.  The Wally tick was reasonable (under $100), the NYC show was ridiculous (but I want to be there), and I'm bailing on Philly for now.

TAC

For shits and giggles, I looked at the prices in NY. Holy shit.

How'd you manage to get those? They aren't available on my end.

Please link me! I will buy a second set. IDC what it costs.

And just like that, all my hopes of ever seeing DT live vanished :lol

They were all that was left after I put in the presale password.

Plasmastrike

Everyone - after you type in the presale code the seats will change as you're looking at them. You can also Refresh the page and may see different seats become available. For example, the first three rows were blanked out for about 20 minutes and then slowly became trickling in as available..

Got front row seats to see our boys in Ohio, cannot wait!!

If you had an issue where more seats became available after you purchased, you could try contacting the venue and see if they can assist with an upgrade to better tickets or a refund of your first pair if you purchase a second one. Hard to say if you'll have any luck, but it's better to try now before all tickets are available on the general onsale.

El Barto

I did alright for Dallas and Houston. Sixth row floor for $89 in Dallas (though it's well off to the side) and front row bal (cripple seats with my cripple friends) for $108 in H-town.

As for RCMH, I have no idea what to do about that. I'm thinking we might be seeing demand pricing for those. I'll wait and see what happens.

Ah damn I'm sorry, Yeah same thing happened to me, the 100's were just disappearing in real time. I finally secured 2 tickets 4th row for my credit card to give me auth issues and lost the tickets... (that's when a phone in pound ridge NY nearly went flying out a window) after that the 100's were gone and we're the 2nd row of the 205 area now. Good news is I've been in that spot before and it really not so bad as long as your center and within the first couple rows. Radio city I was able to get mid orchestra. Best I could find that was not $200 or more

Progmaniac1988

Honestly I've never experienced DT tickets selling this fast in the 20+ years of seeing them in concert lol
