This is the first album by her that has managed to get its hooks in me. Really cool stuff. I’m going to play this one a lot and work my way backwards through her discog.
You could certainly do that, but her albums tend to be extremely different from each other. If you don't count her collaboration with Converge or soundtrack work on
X, her previous "proper" album,
Birth of Violence, is more on the folky/gothic country side, for example.
Pain Is Beauty is the most sonically similar to her current one, if you want to go in that direction.
Abyss has some parallels as well. Everything else is in very different genres.
