Another great round down. This round was better than the first, I've been spinning this playlist for the past few days and I've been thoroughly enjoying it. There are a lot of 4's this round so I might have to become a little more critical with future rounds. Everyone qualified for the bonus point this round although Cyril gave me a lot to think about on what "acoustic" means to me .

Cael McLeish - "If I Were Good Enough..."
First of all big props for sending an original song, you're a braver man than I. This song captures the acoustic theme of the round perfect. I love the way this song builds and releases tension throughout, it feels like a passionate performance in a café. I think the only thing keeping me from rating this song higher is the vibrato on the vocals. The timbre of the vocals is good but I feel at points the vibrato goes a little crazy. Good song!

Well, I’m pretty much not gonna get anywhere near the top at this point.
Yeah, the vibrato got a little out of control, but we basically cut the entire album in a day and I wasn’t overly well either. This is one of the ones I really want to redo if I ever have the chance to do so. I was 16 at the time and I’m still proud of it, but I can definitely do better. Glad you liked it though. Glad I made up that extra point.

Unfortunately, Destrage hasn't done any other acoustic takes that I know of, even though fans were totally floored by this one. Their regular catalog is well worth a look though, just an off the hook band.

Man, this is going badly!

I guess tonally that song is a bit chipper, but to me it’s a mournful song about regrets and it has more of a sad than happy tone. The build up in the middle when there are about four guitars layered on each other is tremendous. But I can see not liking the harmonica. Oh well, something completely different coming next.

This, I've already heard so much great music in just the first two rounds it's a lot of fun. Plus I have to be more critical with my rankings, if I ranked the songs in this roulette with how I rank them when I listen to albums on my own almost everyone would be tied.

That's often the case with Roulette's... the margin of difference is so negligible, hosts really do need to nitpick to differentiate the scores.  In this round alone, 50% of players got a 4.

Anneke Van Giersbergen - "Losing You"
I've seen Anneke's name get thrown around on the forum but I can't remember if she was a part of a band or is a solo act. Anyway, I'm glad I got to finally hear her in this context, her voice is fantastic and this song highlights it well. I think if I could change anything I would've had just her and the guitar perform the song. While there is nothing wrong with the bands performance I think I preferred the guitar/vox arrangement that is introduced in the beginning.

She was part of band The Gathering in 90s, now she's mostly doing guest appearances, most notably on a few Devin Townsend's albums. I like her albums Air (as Agua de Annique) as well.
