TWISTED EYES ARE THOSE YOU FIIIIIND

Twisted Eyes by Persuader. God damn that song rips. Good track Pup.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Indeed I did.  Hard to play when A) I don't log in and Evermind has most of the thing solved (hell, he'll probably have 1/2 of mine solved before you even post mine!  :lol), or B) It's players like Puppies and Cyril, and I have no clue on all (or most) of the bands.

Give us a C.

Nice. This is actually my favorite Vektor song, but I wasn't able to fit it into my own concept.

OK, here's Puppies' album:

OK here it is, in all it's giant glory! I apologize for the length of the album and for the length of the story. Also the end of the story got a little bit carried away, sorry about that.

As I mentioned previously, the story is basically about a man learning about who and what he really is. A journey of self discovery. In a nutshell, the story is told in snippets of his life with the implication that he was various fabled and legendary people throughout history or part of various major events. The story ended on a much more Science Fiction note than what I originally intended, but hopefully that doesn't detract too much. I have the track list below with timestamps (for your convenience), since it was all edited together as one file for the sake of flow. So without further ado....

The Man From Earth

The Man had gone by many names throughout the millennia, but he preferred Thomas above all. This is his legacy. This is his journey of self discovery.

Year 4 BC (Goodbye to Everything)(Beyond the Gate)(Black Stone Wielder)

Thomas was awoken from another one of those dreams again. He couldn’t blame it on the heat anymore, as the Autumn had come and cooled the weather significantly and with it brought rain. The dream had him doubting whether he was really alive. This seemingly endless journey he had been on, he simply could not explain. He had seen countless friends and loved ones pass throughout the years and yet he had not aged a day. 3,904 years he had been alive and not a single other person he had known had come within 3,800 years of that. Perhaps the dream was reality and this life was only a dream.

He had learned early on in his life to always be moving on, not sticking around in one place too long. People had become suspicious before; named him demon, unholy, possessed. He couldn’t blame them when he himself didn’t understand the origin of his longevity. He knew how to say goodbye to everything he had known, after all he had done it countless times.

The early morning sky was darkened by rain clouds as Thomas and his two companions were getting on their way. They had been following a mysterious star in the sky for the last three weeks, that shown in the day just as brightly as the night, through clouds and fog. Even in his vast experience, Thomas had never seen anything like this before. It became increasingly evident to him that the star was leading them towards Bethlehem.

Year 468 AD (Sign of the Warrior)

Thomas found himself as a sort of king. He had no real desire to be a king, but his skills in leadership and as a warrior earned him the title. The strange thing is, he found himself becoming more powerful the more people that followed him. This was a new thing to him.

He led his armies across the northern lands. It was time to face the enemy that these people had entrusted him to attain victory over. Under the sign of the warrior they marched into battle. Thomas raised his sword that he had found many years earlier, the one his people had taken to calling Excalibur, and shouted, “TO VICTORY.”

He heard a cry from thousands of voices, “FOR KING ARTHUR,” as they charged forward.

Year 873 AD (Parallax)(Angel and Abyss)(High Flying Gypsy)(Arctic Twilight)

It had been nearly 900 years since Thomas had a dream like this. Not even the howling winds blowing against the canvas of his wagon could wake him. This time he found himself having an out of body experience. He could see himself. As he watched the countless lives he had lived, he couldn’t help but have feelings of loss, self-doubt, isolation. Had he truly ever built anything great? Had he accomplished anything of note? What was his true purpose?

In his dream Thomas was approached by what he could only describe as an angel. The angel laid before him a path to eternity.
The Angel said, “You must learn to be unborn and die to transform yourself. Emerge from the abyss.”
Thomas did not know what any of this meant. How could he be transformed if he couldn’t die? What was the abyss that he must emerge from? He had always felt he could be more, but he needed to be free of something. Something that was holding him back.

He woke the next morning to continue on his journey. He had been a traveling gypsy of sorts. Using the accumulated knowledge of his many years to help people who were sick or in need of other services he provided. Many thought he practiced magic because his cures of the sick were so seemingly miraculous. Thomas knew better, but he had been chased out of too many villages by angry torch wielding mobs to know not to stay too long in one. It made him sad, he only wanted to help people. With the sadness he took up drinking way too much and was often drunk by the end of the day.

Thomas pulled on his leather coat and got the horse team ready for day. He had seen so much of the known world, new places, new people. Today would be no different. Another new place he had not seen before, but it didn’t feel like enough. He wanted more from life. Perhaps he would save up enough money to buy a ship and a crew to sail across the ocean, to truly new lands. For now, he would settle for making it to the nearby port town and buy passage to Iceland.

Year 1000 AD (Arctic Twilight)(Helluland)

Thomas’s time in Iceland proved difficult. It took over a hundred years to finally procure a ship that would be capable of sailing across the ocean. Then another 20 to find a crew willing to sail with him. Then over the next seven years they made short trips shipping cargo or undertaking missions to and from Iceland, Norway, and Greenland. They needed the money to buy the supplies in order to attempt to sail beyond Greenland to see what was farther west.

They finally set off in the year 1000 AD. Thomas had heard the stories of lands beyond Greenland from a man he met named Bjarni, but now was his chance to see them. The ocean waves lazily rocked the ship as he slept, when his right hand man had awoken him with a sense of urgency. “We seem to be off course, Captain,” the man said quickly. Thomas gestured the man away and donned his coat. He made his way to the deck to see where they were. Through the misty fog he could see land in the distance, but it wasn’t what he had been expecting. He did not recognize the land he saw. This is what they came for, what they had been searching for.

As they approached the land Thomas could see the land was very rocky and desolate. They could see snow and glaciers as well. They docked the ship off shore and took a rowboat to shore. Once ashore it was obvious that nothing grew here. There were no animals moving across the ground, no birds in the sky. Disheartened to not find anything of worth here, he knew that he must go on.

His right hand man approached him, “Now what Captain?”
He answered quietly, “We will have to move on, I would like to find something of value to bring back to Greenland with us.” More loudly for the whole crew to hear he said, “Now we have done better than Bjarni where this country is concerned - we at least have set foot on it. I shall give this country a name and call it Helluland.”

Year 1123 AD (Winds of Destination)

Thomas had begun feeling the urge for something new again. After spending many years discovering new lands sailing on the seas, he decided he wanted to be on land again. He heard about a new Order that had been formed and decided to join. They were to be entrusted to guard a temple in Jerusalem. The Temple of Solomon. He remembered when the original Temple of Solomon was built, if not exactly where it used to stand, but the new temple was built right over the top of the original. This Order was also to protect those who made pilgrimages to the temple from bandits and highwaymen.

During his time in the Order he began to search the old ruins of Solomon’s Temple below in the tunnels. It was here that Thomas found potential answers to who or what he was and perhaps what he must do. He remembered all those years ago what that angel had said to him in that dream. Among the ancient relics and manuscripts he came upon a secret ark of Solomon. Inside was a single large scroll.

As Thomas picked up the scroll, he was discovered by his Knights Templar brothers. Seeing what he was doing, they proclaimed him a heretic and sentenced him to die. Thomas took the scroll and ran.

Year 1720 AD (Riding the Storm)(Through the Infinitive Halls of Death)

Thomas was back at sea, commanding his very own pirate ship. This is where he belonged, out on the open sea. This also afforded him the opportunity to look for the answers he had so long been searching for. The scroll he had taken from Solomon’s Temple so long ago finally led him back across the ocean. He started in Helluland and worked his way south to warmer waters. It took him almost 600 years to finally find what he had been looking for, what the angel had told him in that dream so long ago. Crew members had come and gone countless times over the past few hundred years, helping Thomas find what he was looking for and spreading the legend of the pirate Blackbeard, as they called him.

Following rumors and directions from the many people he met and talked to, he had finally found the entrance to the abyss, to Hell itself. The locals called this place The Infinitive Halls of Death. It was said that no one who went in ever came back out. This is where he could be unborn and die to transform. What Thomas didn’t know was how much he would have to endure and suffer to emerge from this place.

Year 2020 AD (Ghengis Tron, Come Home, We Miss You!)(Tranquil)

300 long years Thomas spent in death. Suddenly he awoke under an oak tree. He knew this place. He remembered it from his childhood. He used to come here to sit and dream. The dawn was soon to come and the air was crisp and cold, yet Thomas felt warm. He remembered his strange dreams and now who he really was. He knew he had the strength and love in his heart to create something good, something better for humanity. The world was waiting, he was reborn.

A great tranquility came over Thomas. From under his oak tree he could see the sun begin to shine on the sea below him. He saw the waves crashing onto the shore and with each wave it seemed as though they were washing away all of his past pains. The worst of his life was behind him. Time to move on to greater things.

Year 48933 FY (Tetrastructural Minds)(Goodbye to Everything Reprise)

For almost 50,000 years Thomas watched over a peaceful and free universe. He nurtured all the various peoples on all the different worlds. He gave them all purpose and they all lived in harmony. Although, one group was not satisfied and wanted power for themselves. Called the Tetrastructural Minds, they worked in concert for centuries and found a way to control Thomas’ mind. They brought him to his knees and punctured his sanity. They trapped Thomas in a mind prison and reprogram his thought patterns.

As the last vestiges of Thomas’ pure untouched mind are slowly destroyed, he has one more strange dream where he wonders again if this is real, if he is really alive. Did he make the right choices? As his own mind switches off he says one last sorrowful goodbye to everything.

Year 1 NE (Twisted Eyes)(Paradise)(Life In Velvet)

The Tetrastructural Minds lifted Thomas up as a God of terror and destruction. They used him as a tool to create their own version of paradise. Fear and genocide begin to run rampant in the universe.

All is not lost, though. One tiny spark of Thomas’ mind remained from the purge the Tetrastructural Minds did. He remembers all the good things in his life, the good he created. Knowing no other way to stop what is happening and not wanting it all to be destroyed, Thomas sacrifices himself to save what is left, finally at last falling asleep in death.

Has anyone listened to the albums already posted? Thoughts?

Also, that's the last Hangman for today. I'll do another tomorrow. Priority goes to whoever wants to run their own. :lol

Today has been productive. I have preliminarily scored 3 albums so far.

I've listened to Faizoff's and Buddy's so far. I like the stories on both of those and how they tie in with the music/lyrics. I prefer more of the music on Buddy's, but Faizoff's was still very good, if a little bi-polar musically  :lol

Yeah, they both did a great job with that. Actually, everyone did.

i feel like that's a good concept for being able to send literally whatever the hell you want and then tying it together with a story though. it's like, 5 or 6 different stories in one  :P

I will begin listening to the albums tonight. Love the writes ups everyone has done. I'll be reading them while listening to it.

I think for the mellow ending for my tracks to work, the EP had to be longer almost album length to allow the transition to work. Even then I agree they are really odd together, the sole reason they are there is for the lyrics to tie in the story.

I'd be glad to help. One bonus point should go to me.  :)

I'll probably have to start listening on Monday.   I can guarantee my family members do not want to hear Cyril's bands. :)

Buddy that was a great writeup and story! I will have to check out the tracks, never heard these bands before.

Thank you :)
Honestly this EP was mostly an excuse to get TAC familiar with the new King Gizzard album because more metalheads on here need to listen to it. The other bands on here are pretty :metal too (except Celldweller I guess, but that specific track I think works pretty well with everything else)
Just got done listening to this EP, the songs rule on this album! King Gizzard is so much like Mastodon the 4 tracks on here are so much fun to listen. I loved the Celldweller track, I was under the impression TAC doesn't look too kindly to those type of tracks, I guess we shall see. I see how well your album flows musically, it fits the story well.
Listening to Cyrils's album now. Never heard any of these bands, might have to get on the musical discovery phase again.
