The cast of Star Trek Beyond recently had a press conference for STB in Dubai. Maybe the promotional trail has begun and we'll gradually start getting more info and a teaser soon !

It's about 9 months til the film is out so things should start building up soon.

I remember seeing the very first trailer for Into Darkness !

Do yuo remember the teaser for Star Trek 2009 ? With just the saucer section of E with people welding on it ?

Yeah, I remember it. I also remember everyone bitching about the ship being built within the planet's atmosphere instead of in orbit.

I think 9 months is probably too soon to hear much yet, isn't it? How far out do they usually show a first teaser?

It was around this time for ST09 and the first teaser was December for STID but those films were both out in May.

But if they're doing a press conference - that must mean they're done with principal photography at least ?

Or maybe they're just taking a break to go " hey - we're making great progress - bye ! "

I hope some details of that conference come out soon.

I think it's been a while since they started filming, so they're probably done. Given all of the CG required for that kind of movie, I don't know how much they'll have that's ready to show yet. I don't know, maybe. I'm more excited for the new Star Wars than the new Star Trek, and I'm not even that into Star Wars (which is ironic given that the new SW is done by JJ

Yeah i'm gonna go see The Force Awakens just because it's a sci fi film and it's by JJ and i'm not even a SW fan.

So Beyond started filming three months ago. But nobody has said that they've wrapped so either they're still filming or doing pickups or whatever or they just haven't said anything.

I don't even think of Star Wars as real scifi. To me it's just fantasy with spaceships.

I can honestly say I have given J.J. Abrams many, many chances to try and demonstrate why everyone loves him so much, and ended up concluding that whatever the reason is, I don't get it, nor can I.

That said, I am sure the new Star Wars will be on par with every other action movie that has come out in the last ten years from Abrams, Michael Bay and whoever else has been making these things. So I will go see it and enjoy it, I just don't expect anything from it other than mindless entertainment littered with carefully selected references to Star Wars lore, guaranteed to make everyone laugh and say "Ha, that was clever."

So the brakes on my bike (not motorized... Lol) went out. As I was shooting down a busy street in the wee hours. Got going pretty fast. Just below 20mph. Came up to a light. It turns red. I hit brakes. My brakes tell me to fuck off. I go through the intersection. I didn't diedie.

Well, fuck. Winamp finally screwed the pooch on me.

Guess I need to change media players. I am not all that fond of WMP or Itunes, and I prefer something that works with last.fm, so I guess that leaves me with foobar2000. Anybody have experience with that?

I switched from Winamp to foobar year ago and love it. It can be set up however you want, if you put a bit of time into it. Tabbed playlists ftw.

I'm still with Winamp and happy. A couple of things have stopped working but they weren't important features (such as the Most Played tab always being blank), but no reason to ditch it yet.

I still liked Winamp, I just started getting annoyed having one big playlist for everything, and the newer skin system for the more featured version (v3 onwards) was painfully sluggish. It was great for obscure plugins though.
