Here you pay $125 for a motorcycle endorsement and then you are free to buy the fastest bike that you can afford.
I'm not really sure myself. I know getting on a bike on the road is almost a doddle compared to getting a car on the road.
What with - lessons - hazard tests, practical tests, theory tests...Buying the car, getting it MOT'd, Insured, Road Tax then petrol and maintenance... It's just ridiculous.
AFAIK - For a 125 cc bike - it's one day of lessons - then insurance and MOT and off you go.
Also - I *think* I only need a provisional drivers licence to ride a 125 on the road ?
A provisional will let you drive a car if it's small enough, not very powerful, and an experienced driver is in the passenger seat and you can't go on motorways.
