Question... and I don't want to sound like an asshole or anything... but is it traditional for groomsmen to pay for their own tux rental? I have a childhood friend who is getting married in October. I was originally under the impression that the wedding was going to be very casual... like the wedding party as going be in jeans and shit. I can hang with that. Today, the bride messaged myself and another groomsman a link to the tux rental and the shoes they want us wearing. I can handle spending $50 on the shoes... but I really cannot afford $230 for a suit rental.

I contacted her and I feel like shit for it but I told her I don't think I will be able to afford spending almost $300 for all this. She said they'll help out a bit and we can figure all that out when it gets closer.

Am I an asshole?

I would agree and lucky you're not a bridesmaid. I've had to foot a bill for >$1000 when my missus was a bridesmaid after dress, hair, makeup etc........

I try and arrange to be busy around the time of any prospective weddings

Apparently she, the bride, spoke with the groom's parents a put my situation (I also need to arrange rides to and from the rehearsal dinner and wedding and whatever else. Apparently they said none of it is an issue. They will make sure I'm there and part of it. Whether its the money or rkde or anything. Not to worry. I am considered family in their book.

It really touched me deeply too because since my dad died (going on six years now) I've felt as if I've had no family. Literally the entirety of my adult life I've felt like this. People have told me, regarding the wedding, that I shouldn't care yada yada. If I can't make it oh well. Honestly I wouldn't forgive myself if I missed it.

Still more programming. I'm currently programming enemies to only trigger once you go within a certain boundary, so they're not all roaming you from the start. I also fixed a collision mesh so the enemies can come out of their pods without getting stuck.
