Relistened to this, I listened to it about a year ago and didn't think it too special, a bit boring even, but I like it a lot more now. I'm going to relisten to it at least a few more times :azn:

The first times I listened to this, and I actually really like it! She has a lovely voice, I like the dreaminess and how their is some sort of slow groove in most songs. If I hear Royals I'm always skiing in my head since I heard that song at least five times a day on ski vacation  :lol

1 - looks like it could/should be filled with oodles of cheesy greatness.  I'm gonna have to check this one out
2 - Badass cover.  Gonna have to check that out
3 - Love me some Fairyland, but for some reason I don't have this one saved in Spotify.  Gotta go rectify that.

:tup John.  You just gave me my listening tomorrow morning.

Second listen to this. It's pretty good. Not sure if it's :hefdaddy worthy, but it's definitely good.

Oh yeah, great album. To me Lorde is like an electro-pop, young female version of The Cure. Hopefully her 2nd album arrives this year, because it has felt like an eternity.

It's definitely oozing with cheese, and I generally avoid that, but when it comes to power metal I run towards it. It's my obsession with fantasy.

I have Astronomy I think it is from Dragonland, which is awesome and that Fairyland album is fabulous, top quality power metal.  That middle cover is indeed fantastic, don't know it either.

If a band called Fairyland were your all time favourite , would you admit it?  ;D

this is that weird transitional album between the psychedelic porcupine tree and the poppier PT and it's kind of fascinating in that regard

time will tell how much I actually like it though, this is only my second time listening to it period

CM have been the best alternative to Dream Theater for me since the 1st Chapter. Nine was a new direction but I came to love it after first feeling it was an unwanted change. Havoc is a very logical follow up to Nine and once again I first didn't like it all. Now I don't understand why because the melodies and vocal lines I come to love from CM are certainly there. Havoc (the song) has certainly grow to be something I don't skip but Highest Bitter is still skip material. Otherwise I feel Michael Eriksen is doing some of his best singing and there is a lot of musical candy to enjoy  :metal

Haven't listened to BTBAM after first hearing the hyed Colors album. Didn't like that one to much because of all the growling. Not sure if they have became softer (still hard rocking of course) because this is not too much growling and a lot of soft singing. My initial thoughts are that this will take a couple of listens to connect with, but there are many great melodies. Specially "The Ectopic Scroll" took me by a pleasant suprise. Will continue spinning this one.

Astronomy IS from Dragonland. I've been listening to Fairyland on and off for a while now. Generally, I'll check any album out if there are dragons on the cover, or swords or castles or... you get the idea.  :lol

Now THIS is really fucking good.

Dude, if you like Coma Ecliptic you need to listen to Native Construct's Quiet World if you haven't already, that's basically Between the Buried and Me with significantly less growls. Maybe it gets too much praise around the prog metal scene but for good reason, easily one of my favorite albums of 2015.

If you can tolerate the growls on Coma Ecliptic however, I still strongly suggest checking out BTBAM's The Great Misdirect, I've been hooked since last week. Lots of memorable clean parts aswell.

I've heard it twice I think. Once around release, and another time 2 days ago.
I don't like it as much as the 3 albums previous to it for sure but still like it alright, Famine Wolf is absolutely killer though. What really gets to me in a negative way is that repeating line in The Coma Machine "You teach us what was"

yeah it's like they realized the chorus of The Coma Machine sounded really cool so they decided the lyrics should suck and it should be totally beat to death throughout the song by overuse

Couldn't get into that last Luca/Rhapsody album.  Blech

Ancient Bards however... great stuff.  Sara is great.

As for your last three recommendations - Fairyland (as expected), rocked; Derdian... ok/enjoyable; Dragonland ... heard it all before.

Yeah, Sara is a killer singer. I liked the Turilli album but not as much as the previous one.

Ohboy, how much I regret not delving deeper into his discography before - I'm in fucking love with this album. Some of the most beautiful, heartfelt piano music I've ever listened to.
