people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

I think Desperation songs are very good. Others not so much. I get early Fates Warning feel what's not bad per se but it doesn't really work :/

I don't know the album that well to tell you in much detail, but it seemed like mostly focusing on production values.

I haven't listened enough to PF albums beside Dark Side and The Piper yet (I've probably listened more times to The Piper than all other PF albums combined :p)
Good stuff.

Great music for studying, doesn't destract me to much and is really beautifull

I've been meaning to listen to that ever since I heard Bird Of Sorrow on that Spotify Playlist
I feel strangely honored to be following up a post from Sir Walrus Cauliflower.

High Hope is fantastic, and like half the songs on the album are very good - I'd say one listen isn't really enough to judge this album. Or any album, actually :P

i know it's not enough to judge an album but bird of sorrow was the kind of song that strikes you immediately as a fantastic song, so it's not really fair to compare the other songs to it i guess

i'm probably gonna get the album eventually anyways but i seem to be bad at getting any of the singer/songwriter albums in my backlog, i always pick the metal ones over them  :lol

pretty intense and atmospheric listen, pretty much every track is different, too, pale rider is probably the only track that doesn't add anything new but it's still good on its own

I'm on a huge Deftones roll right now, god, this might even be my most anticipated 2016 release.

Currently listening to my 2 favorite albums of theirs  :hefdaddy

Just finished listening to Marillion's Afraid of Sunlight for the first time. My thoughts are over at the Marillion thread.

I'm having a hard time getting into this band. There have been a few good songs on each album, but nothing spectacular. Also, I really don't like Roy Kahn. I'm hoping the albums with Tommy are much better.

That has been my experience with them. For me there are hit and miss tracks on all of their albums. Even with all of the guest musicians their music seems lacking sometimes.

Abbey Road, and then my expanded 'Red' and 'Blue' double cdrs.
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!

I don't know Silverthorn or Ghost Opera, but if you don't like something like The Black Halo, you probably won't like Haven. There's not a vast change in songwriting with Tommy's arrival. Slightly different sensibility in writing vocal melodies, I guess.
