It seems like every time I listen to this album, I like different songs the best.

I'm still not sold on this as one of DT's top albums. When push comes to shove, I'd still probably put this at the bottom of my list. I appreciate all of these songs as their own entities, but I feel that most have them have a flaw or are missing something that makes me not really love them. This time, at least, I'm appreciating The Great Debate more than I have in the past.

Eh. I don't know. I like a lot of stuff on this album, really, but I just can't rate it up where most people here seem to rate it.
And if spirit's a sign,
Then it's only a matter of time

The title track doesn´t represent the album at all in that it is much faster than the rest of the songs. It´s sort of Doom metal with great melodies and a great, expressive female singer. It took me a couple of songs but I really think it´s great. The selftitled debut/album I feel is quite a bit better still though. This one is a little more diverse.  :metal

No growls, right? I think I might buy this one.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

No growling on here. Great guitar playing and a huge monster Hammond organ sound....
From the ocean comes the notion that the realise lies in rhythm. The rhythm of vision is dancer, and when you dance you´re always on the one. From the looking comes to see, wondrous realise real eyes....

I hope that poor eagle is getting paid well - he appears on about 50 Frontiers covers.

@ Brent... that Brighton Rock album is a helluva deep cut.  I'd be surprised if anyone beyond myself and jj knew them.  Excellent album though.  Paul would dig it methinks.

Re: Nordic Union... how is it?

One of the most generic , bland and predictable outings from Frontiers yet.  Some of it is like Pretty Maids meets Coldplay and as Kade has pointed out Erik is plagiarising himself regularly .   I'm having trouble rating it above 70% , and as you know I am a big Pretty Maids fan.

My thoughts on the songs range from good generic to vomit inducing generic :lol  There's barely an original idea on it.

Urrgghh.  I might not even purchase this one.  I think I'll listen first, but this doesn't surprise me one bit as per my comments on the songs.  So disappointing.

I will be interested in your opinion Kade as all the usual suspects think it's the best thing since sliced bread and howl down any contrary opinion.  This scene (hard rock/melodic metal) is getting so predictable - I have so much more fun finding old undiscovered classics as they have things that are missing in today's releases - traces of originality and soul.

I'm listening to this album:

https://play.spotify.com/album/3Ac0F0U6d8kg28n5k5VNiu

"De Noir", by underground italian act Arcana Opera.

The music is hard to describe, it's a well balanced mix of prog, gothic rock and folk metal, with well crafted lyrics (in italian). You may all find something interesting in there, the most proggy song is Caffè Marco Polo, but any song here is brilliant.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I'll definitely listen to this one when it's available I think.  I normally wait until I order it before listening, but this is a listen before you buy unfortunately given the people involved.  Based on the songs I've heard my opinion leans with yours, but I think I have to try and approach it with a more positive frame of mind.

Frontiers for me redeemed themselves a little bit with the Find Me and Khymera.  They are certainly not original, but are quite fresh IMO and not just the blatant rehash that Erik seems to be doing here.  Interesting it's getting rave reviews, but it would be hard to take the reviewers seriously I'd imagine.

From the sample songs, I wasn't too impressed with what I heard. It didn't sound bad, but there's so much middle of the road melodic rock/metal out there that it's just a blur of meh. Sounded slightly better than the average, but that's not a high bar.
Let me know if you have/find any undiscovered classics. Been a while since I've found one.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.
