man what a crazy album, there's like one song where her voice gets a little eehhh but otherwise it's pretty consistently great, and being human is still a 10/10 song so

Relistened it a few days ago and yes, what a crazy album it is. Dunno if Being Human is 5/5 (maybe 4.5/5 in my book), but it's still an excellent track. Those guys deserve more love.

well you're only a 4.5/5 so  :loser:

anyways that's the last of the 18 albums i got physical copies of but i really wanna listen to the Being album again so
i dunno why I put Being on my top 50 albums list when I'm rly not that familiar with it that list sucked so hard in general though  :lol

i dunno i don't get much out of this. doesn't really feel like there's an emotional core to it, i just hear "lots of djent riffs with a few other things" whenever i listen to this

I think it's more interesting for it's creative approach than anything else - the last track is absolutely insane.

through semi-random selection these are gonna be the first 5 discs i'll be spinning.
i was trying to avoid having too many conflicting albums at the same time but having bent knee, destrage, and east of the wall all together is prob gonna kill me though  :lol

I understand this, on many of the songs.

This is honestly a problem I have with a lot of proggy/metal instrumental stuff, though. This is why I never got deeply into LTE, either. In that case, many of the songs feel like a bunch of riffing and soloing without much of an emotional core.

Both artists make some very good music, for sure, and songs like Universal Mind and Wrinkle Maze do have a solid emotional core, but by and large I just don't connect too strongly with the songs on an emotional level.
