Epic
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

:rollin  Good batch.  I especially like how, in the last one, dude knocks the girl in the water and is like "Later, babe!"

Okay, as cool as this is, is it really any better than an auto-reverse deck?  That looks like a very sophisticated cassette deck, with all the stuff on either side of the cassette bay which I couldn't even begin to guess the functions of, so if the answer is something like "Yes, because the transport mechanism of an auto-reverse deck compromises the blahblahblah to allow for two-way playback" then I believe it.  I mean, I know something about the inner workings of tape decks, just not enough to answer the question.

I don't get it though... when you flip the thing over, the other pan can't be that hot.

It's hot enough, and (mine at least) heats up pretty quickly.

This can be awesome and lead to a lot more GIFs on this thread haha.  Too bad its only being tested now the PBS channel, but if it gets rolled out to all youtube videos, this can be fun.

Seriously one of my all time favorite films.   The re-release with the more recent interviews is amazing.   Stoppard should write more for Hollywood...he's amazing, but he's not especially prolific (at least recently...but I guess he's just happier writing for theater...more power to him)

You know the play came first, right?  I remember reading "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" back in high school (in the 70's) and saw a production of the play in the 80's.  The movie is from 1990.  It's an adaptation of his play.

Yes, when I said I was going to look for my copy, I meant the play. I have never seen a stage production of it though, only the film.

That's cool, but actually I was talking to Dude.  He referred it R & G as "one of my all time favorite films" and that "Stoppard should write more for Hollywood".  This doesn't discount knowledge that the play came first and Stoppard is a playwright, but it somehow seemed a grey area to me, so I thought I'd offer that bit of info.

I do believe you're right on that, that it diminishes the speed continuity. That deck, if I'm not mistaken, is a Nakamichi.

That makes sense.  I remember cassette decks got really sophisticated for a while.  There were still the old-schoolers who insisted on reel-to-reel for stability and fidelity, but I remember reading once that cassettes had gotten to the point where they rivaled reel-to-reel in terms of overall quality, and they had the convenience factor going for them, which was a big plus.

And after a quick search, I have proven once again that my memory hasn't gone to total shit yet. Nakamichi rx202e, the brand was the high end deck in that day. I remember we tried to convince our father to get the Dragon line, a measly 2k at the time. :lol
