I hope that map is more populated than it appears, and that green areas don't mean "SA-style fuck all". The city area alone looks plenty big enough though, I guess.
Pedestrians video

Highlights:

* 5 times as many pedestrians as GTA IV
* If you were to follow a pedestrian, you would see them going through a routine. Like going to work, going home, see their social life, etc.
* If someone witnesses you commit a crime, they might call the police, film you on their smart phone, or try to fight back.
* Can chat with some pedestrians in order to obtain quests.
Listen! Do you smell something?

Looks fine to me.  A big city with lots of open areas.  I mean they did seem to create more areas under water and it still is current gen so I never expected it to be the biggest thing ever.

The video shows that it's alot more sophisticated then before though.
As far as I know you have never been able to interact directly to pedestrian unless it's a cut scene.
"Film on their smartphone" I wonder if those clips will be shown somehow because I know that in multiplayer you can follow other players being chased by the cops on a livefeed through a TV in your apartment. The cops have a camera on their helis.

Picking up the special edition and the collector's version of the strategy guide at midnight on Monday, so stoked. Only downside is that I promised a friend to wait with playing it until 2 weeks when he will come here for the weekend. But still, excited.

Widespread leaks have started, I've seen videos, lots of pages from the guidebook and handfuls of things posted already this morning. Be careful if you want to be spoiler free.

Excited for Tuesday! I wish GTA and DT were coming out same day, that would be heaven.

It looks really awesome and it's being played on current gen consoles! Can't wait for the PC version.

First cheat code has been discovered.

Spawn helicopter:

PS3: O, O, L1, O, O, O, L1, L2, R1, Triangle, O, Triangle
Xbox 360: B, B, LB, B, B, B, LB, LT, RB, Y, B, Y

Looks like Rockstar has gone back to the button entering technique. I like that a lot. It allows me to get the cops off my back more easily while tearing down the highway.

Holy crap this game is fantastic. Looks so beautiful and the world feels so alive. I drove up through the mountains just for the hell of it, nearly ran into some guys racing ATVs, and hit a deer.

Gta 4 and RDR are the best of that bunch but I liked Max Payne 3 and its a different type of game than the others so that may be the way to go.

My copy is sitting in my car. The suspense is killing me. I was suppose to get it at midnight, but relations got in the way of that. Now I'm stuck, sitting here in the library, and can't touch it until at least 7:30 tonight :(

Gah, that's right! Fortunately, I've got an alternate activity to keep me occupied for the 20-30 minutes it'll likely take...should make the game more enjoyable as well.

Was just fixing to echo that sentiment, and then my mom dropped by with a birthday cheque. Really not too interested in playing right now, but since I'll get a free RDR out of it, I guess now is the time.

Rockstar has advised a fan on Twitter not to install the “play” disc of the game.

GTA V ships on two discs on Xbox 360, the first of which, the “install” disc, is the only one required to be installed. The installation weighs in at just over 7GB. Some fans were expecting to also install the second disc for better performance, but apparently that’s not the case.

The publisher said to expect more details at launch.

That definately sucks, but do you know what's even worse?

Having 3 quizzes, a lab practical and an exam all in the same week of GTA 5's release. Probably won't get to play it until sometime this weekend.  :'(

Just read up on the special edition, and that's a bunch of bullshit. Giving away trinkets, and non game effecting stuff like tattoos or character mods is fine and dandy. Having to pay $20 extra for game effecting abilities and weapons isn't right, though.
