Waves is soooo good. The melodies are just gorgeous, Casey really knows how to write harmonies and beautiful melodic passages.

Great song, the weakest of the three yet for me, but still awesome overall.

Hah, probably my favourite of the three. I love when TDH do darker stuff, and this has a bit of a Black EP vibe to it.

Apparently there's been some problems with the LPs, I received an e-mail yesterday:

Quote from: RudeRecordz
Dear valued Customer,

We thank you for pre-ordering your “The Dear Hunter” item/s on https://ruderecords.limitedrun.com/ .

Due to production delays on the VINYL LP, which go beyond our control, we unfortunately need to postpone the shipment of your order. We trust we will have availability for that item by the end of September 2015, after which we will immediately ship your order in full.

Meanwhile, we assure you that on September 4th you will regularly receive your digital copy of the entire album.

Sorry again for the inconvenient, and thank you for your understanding.

Oh man, this album is a lot to take in but it's sounding SO good.

Bitter Suite IV/V is just insanely good.

In general, I am adoring the return of the dark quirky folk stuff. I love TCS and Migrant, but one of my favourite things about the Acts is the infusion of that quirky folk so it's great having loads of it on this album.

It's better than Migrant and probably Act III, but doesn't have anything on TCS or Act II. Still, a positive surprise.

Early thoughts are not quite as great as Act III, which is one of my all-time favourites by anyone. Hard to say how it compares with TCS, Act II and Migrant at this stage, needs far more listens.

Had to come here during my first listen to say WHATS GOING ON WITH KING OF SWORDS?!!? Awesome ish.

Overall I'm enjoying it quite a bit though it's dense, I will need a couple of weeks before I even attempt to rank it.

King of Swords really sticks out in a good way. Pretty much the rest of the album is the TDH we have already heard before, nothing really new, and so when King of Swords pops up, it just has such a different style than everything else. Maybe the catchiest song they have done.

Act IV definitely stand up to the greatness of Act II and III. I need several more listens before I decide where it falls.

A bright and uplifting album.  So much to soak in.

I hope someone on the internet posts a story analysis at some point, I really want to know what causes the massive shift in tone towards the end of the album.

Do he and Miss Leading break up again (I assume he meets her again early on)? Does he get exposed for taking his half-brother's identity?

This is one of the best albums I've listened to in months. Miles better than 'Migrant'.

Very quality. Wow.

The melodies on this album are just amazing, Casey took everything he learned from TCS and clearly evolved it alongside his theater-esque sound. Might actually be my fav by them overall, I just love it all as a whole.

Agreed.

Also, been listening to The Color Spectrum and Migrant a lot lately. I think The Collapse of the Great Tide Cliffs is an outstanding song, I love the lyrics. Might be one of their best, IMO. I never see much mention of it though, what do you all think about it?

Also, going to see them on October 10th in Atlanta. I'm excited!
