Look on the bright side Nick. At least we get Shadow Gallery.

Lol... actually... I don't know for sure, but I think Shadow Gallery has played more shows in Europe than in the US.

Just keep in mind there's another side to the coin. We don't get Pain of Salvation, Riverside, Haken, etc over here. The pain is mutual.

Or Oceansize or Pure Reason Revolution :( :( :(

(Well... I guess nobody gets them now... but at least Europe had a chance!)

Oh, really? I thought they barely toured anywhere. Didn't they just recently play their first few live shows ever?

I didn't even get Oceansize. :(

On a more TDH-related note, I must say that "What You Said" has really been clicking lately, such a beautiful tune.. loving the whole Blue EP.  :heart

They pretty much never tour ever.  They did just recently play their first few live shows.  The first one was near their hometown in Pennsyvlania, but then the rest were for a short tour of Europe.

Lack of advertising/promotion and such.
It's rather lame, I'm glad that I've been able to pick up all of their stuff, but I would never expect to meet someone else here who knows them. :/

I feel like they should be a considerable amount more popular than they are. And I'm not just saying that like some people say it about Dream Theater.

I agree.

EVERY single person I introduce them to ends up liking them.  And I mean everyone.  That's gotta be saying something.  That pretty much never happens.

I know what you mean, I'm not quite sure how it is in all the other European countries, but since they don't have a record-label for Europe (?) and has never toured here, as Casey said, they are in a bit of a loop.
But there are quite a few other bands that haven't toured here either that are much more known, like Thrice or Dredg (well those two have probably been in Europe, but probably about 95% of their concerts has been in the states), and while they aren't "known", they are still sold in many recordstores.

Casey's post from a few hours ago in response to a question about touring Europe:

Quote from: casey crescenzo

It is seriously a dream of mine to make it to the UK and Europe, but I have had the absolute worst luck with getting there. No label wants to distribute our music, and because of that, we can't get a booking agent to pick us up- so we are stuck here in a sort of catch 22 limbo where we cant really sell records there until we tour there, but we cant tour until we sell records.

There is no publicity machine, or backing, or helping hand outside of the US, and after touring the US with no love from the rest of the world for the better part of a decade, I am starting to fear the inevitable possibility that things might stay that way.
I only just noticed this. Definitely coming to see them in Ameruka some time then.

I usually hate when a song gets stuck in my head. But when it's TDH, particularly an Orange song... <3

So, any news on Act IV?

I thought dredg toured Europe fairly often, like once a cycle or something?  I remember a story about how the drummer was arrested on stage (mix up with police, I think they thought he was someone else) in Germany so they finished with an acoustic set.

Yeah dredg come often. The police thing was a prank from the other bandmembers, they weren't actually arrested.

That's not exactly huge news. I mean I'm happy for the band and all, but if they say they have big news, at least let it be Act 4 or TCS 2 or something. (Or a Europe-tour)

No need for this, unless they decided to do brown, pink, and gray. :lol

Yeah but that's the thing! Even though some colors would be a bit gay, it would still be awesome to hear.
Pink, Gray, Brown, Aqua, Chestnut, Fuchsia, Celadon, Jasmine and Cerulean.

Or something.  :lol

It's a pretty huge festival and means a ton of exposure for the band.
