I know what you mean, I'm not quite sure how it is in all the other European countries, but since they don't have a record-label for Europe (?) and has never toured here, as Casey said, they are in a bit of a loop.
But there are quite a few other bands that haven't toured here either that are much more known, like Thrice or Dredg (well those two have probably been in Europe, but probably about 95% of their concerts has been in the states), and while they aren't "known", they are still sold in many recordstores.
