Anyone else know girls like this:

‎"I guess we're adults. The question is, when did that happen, and how do we make it stop?"---Grey's Anatomy

‎"Intimacy is a four syllable word for, "Here's my hear and soul, please grind them into hamburger, and enjoy."--Greys Anatomy

‎"..they make it hard on purpose..there are lives in our hands. There comes a moment when it's more than just a game, and you either take that step forward or turn around and walk away. I could quit but here's the thing, I love the playing field."--Greys Anatomy.

Nothing inspires me like a good Grey's Anatomy quote.

You mean girls that watch Grey's Anatomy? Yes, and I wish I didn't.

"birrthdayyy :)"

As in today is my birthday, and I felt like reminding you again, even though it's on the right side of your screen in the events section and 98% of people will come write happy birthday on my wall as a hollow gesture just because. In return I will post another status message tonight thanking everyone for your birthday wishes because I am too lazy to actually thank each of you individually.
I feel proud that I don't update my status to let everyone know it's my birthday, and that I also individually thank all 100+ people that wish me a happy birthday.

Yep.  Because that's how cool people do it.  :hat

Thankfully not so much. But the first quote reminded me of a few people that would constantly talk about how horrible/complicated life is and that they wish they could be a kid again (or some variation of "I'm just a kid at heart!").

Why would you reply to them individually if the wishes are hollow and meaningless anyway?

Because I'm a good person, and if they really didn't care at all, then they wouldn't have gone through the trouble to click my name and type something and click post.

I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Exactly.  They either saw the little reminder thing, or knew it was your birthday anyway, but they took the time to wish you a Happy Birthday, so the least you can do is thank them.  A blanket "Thanks, everyone!" in the Status is not the same thing.  If people were saying it to you in person throughout the day, would you ignore them all, and then stand up and yell "Thanks, everyone!" really loudly at the end of the day?

Tyrone: That's just lame lols

I hate when people are so vague and then refuse to elaborate. Egotistical pricks. If you publish the status, at least back it up.
on par with the anguish one would have from getting unconsensually bent over and buttloved.

Also, I seem to have a lot of friends who treat Facebook the same as Twitter (or at least as far as I understand Twitter, since I'm not on Twitter).  They'll post Status updates, and I'll comment sometimes, ask questions sometimes, you know, actually try to get a conversation started.  They never follow up.  They just threw stuff out there.

One time this guitarist I know posted " and <another guitarist I know> learned to play stick today!"  I commented "The Chapman Stick?  That's a cool instrument."  Nothing.  I wanted to talk a little about Sticks.  Facebook is often like a message board of all people you've actually met in real life.  I figure if you bring something up, you wanted to talk about it.

Then there's a people who post stuff like " is totally bummed."  But even if 10 people ask what's wrong, or offer sympathy, they don't reply.  They just wanted you to know they're bummed.  About something, apparently.

Holy shit. I don't know how to react about this.

A guy in my class just wrote

Quote
I HAD SEX WITH MY COUSIN? DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE?

Whoooah. I hope someone's just pulling a joke on him. :lol

Update: It's a joke. Now he said
Quote
DAMN IT NOW I'VE HAD SEX WITH MY SISTER TOO :((

Still funny though!
