My tickets just came in the mail to see them in March. Boy I wish it was March right now.

I wish it was Late January, thats when my concert season starts for the year with Gojira, then more good acts until this show. So excited.

Descension's cover was officially put on Facebook too. It's just Ascension, flipped, cracked, and different colored.

Coheed and Cambria is like the gift that keeps on giving. I love Ascension and would have been more then satisfied if that was all that was released, but right on the horizon is another kick ass album.

and the album art looks pretty sweet too.

Such a catchy, heavy song. The Descension will be awesome for sure.

Nice song.  I realize that Claudio writes most of the music but I have a feeling that song would have a different feel if Josh wasn't playing drums.  It is so nice to have him back in the band.

It would absolutely have a different feel. Josh is the belt that keeps this band's pants up.

I really really like this song.  It starts very Pink Floyd'ish.

Good stuff. The wait for this new album is getting more and more difficult.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Josh Eppard ‏@Weerd_Science
While recording Dark Side when the song 1st came together we thought it'd be cool to have lil Coheed DNA from records past in there.

Josh Eppard ‏@Weerd_Science
Other than the Time Consumer like intro there is a nod to 1 of my fav songs Back End of Forever in the verse of Dark Side. Hope u guys enjoy

So I've heard the album.  And it is good.  Lots of cool and different things going on in there for a Coheed album.  Very weird hearing full band  versions of Sentry (in the studio anyway) and Iron Fist.

Also, very cool that the past nods in Dark Side were intentional.  Didn't catch the Backend thing but the Time Consumer thing hit me right off the bat.

Just finished my first listen as well. With these albums back to back, Coheed really has done something magical this time around.

Not for sure yet, but it's entirely possible these two albums together could comprise my favorite work Coheed has released. This is just fantastic. Sentry and Gravity's Union are utterly amazing. Away We Go is the pop-song of this album, though, and it might end up being my favorite.

Descension is awesome. My favorite tracks are probably Sentry the Defiant, Hard Sell, Dark Side of Me, and Gravity's Union. Overall, I think I like this one better than Ascension though that album is awesome as well.

Almost done with my first listen, thoughts are pretty much the same as they were with Ascension: Great, but not excellent.

With that said I am going to keep spinning it, maybe the band will click eventually.

I don't know man, I love me some IKS but it's looking like The Afterman double album is their crowning acheivement so far.  Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen (muahahahahaha the dark side something something complete).

A few more listens to Descension have made me very sure that Josh coming back was the best thing to happened to the band!
