This song rocks pretty hard.

Mangini sounds a bit subdued though. His cymbals are incredibly low, and that's one of the first things I noticed. He also didn't do anything particularly memorable, at least in this song, the drums just sound like they fit but not mindblowing.

The JP solos were great, especially that bit he repeats a few times which reminded me of Ayreon for some reason. JM is full on in this one, all the way across the bass. JR did some awesome stuff in this, and we can actually hear him unlike in BCSL. James was good as usual, but didn't do anything incredibly mindblowing, and the lyrics are just ok.

It's a good song to start with.

The cover clearly references the Supertramp cover that was posted before, and I think it's meant to say "look, they cut the line but the clown kept going!", i.e. something horrible happened but it wasn't the end of the world.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!  ....Listening to it first time... extremely impressed with about every aspect.  If the rest of the album is on par with this, we're going to get a masterpiece.  Mangini kicks ass!!  JMX can be heard!!  James sounds great!  JP is well.... vintage JP!  Jordan...this song beats anything in the last 3 albums.

Listening to this for the first time now, it's actually better then I thought it would be, so that's a good sign.

2 listens in. It's very impressive, unlike anything else before but with elements of everything in there. The main thing for me is the structure. It doesn't seem so drum driven to me. There are no really forced tempo changes and most of the sections link well together. There's no trade-off solo too. All of this is for the better of course and was maybe to be expected, given that MP was the arranger and chief architect in that department and that it was written when the band had no drummer. The section beginning at 6:48 is INSANE. I could go on but i'm going to stop blurting.

I agree with you about the vocals.  Not bad, but nothing amazing in my mind.  But I love every other element of the song to pieces.

Definitely has more of a classic sound to it, more similar to Scenes and Images than the recent albums, which I'm TOTALLY in favor of. Mangini seems to not really make himself noticed, which is also probably a good thing. Its not the best song in the world, but I think I may actually like this DT album. And its been a long time since I've said that!

5th time listening and it's grown on me. I love it. Didn't have a "hahahaa wtffffff DT is dead" moment like I did with MP's vocals in ANTR, so that's good at least.

I like the new song! But I hope some of the songs on the album let JLB shine more. The drums are noticeable lower in the mix, but they're great and they sound very DT and what I mean by that is that if I wasn't aware of all that's happened I would think this was still MP in the band.

I just hope that isn't the official artwork for the album!
