Considering the first few shows aren't festivals, I'd say we have a better chance of seeing a new song then.

Artwork and a track length announcement would be very much appreciated sometime in the next week before their first show with Mangini. I wouldn't complain if they posted a brand new single, either. I really just want the artwork and the track lengths.

Have you Guys see JLB picture?? it is awesome !! one of his best shots IMO.
Backing to topic about hearing a new song before the tour starts, I think that 80% YES ;)

I think its a good possibility as well. Both RR and DT have been ridiculously quiet about everything DT-related since they announced the tracklist.

It's because there's going to be another YouTube series with the recording process, and then at the end of the third video, there will be tracklisting lengths, with writing credits, and then Dream Theater's new single/music video.

i dont understand why pics would make a difference to the music?
EDIT: when you check the band photo within I&W, it looks like a glamband who just posed for a/the gaypride or whatever..... (the poses are...well.....)

but the music.............is beyond brutal, beyond awesome....

pics great. i would like it if they would just make a pic of themselves with there iphone and there ya go that's it, this is who we are, we have cellphones too... this is how we look like in 2011.. enjoy our music....

that would do it for me, as personal as can be....no photoshop, no strange light effects...

that DT starts performing from the next week and on...now that DOES get me excited!! wooooooooooT!
the DT wikipedia hasn't been updated with all the latest info...damn.

When I first saw Mangini in "The Spirit Carries On" documentary, that's literally the first thing I thought of. I think that because I happen to be a huge fan of Brian Cox's presentations, etc.

I've been following this all thru the entire process - and with all the slow, gradual release of information - it's just killing me that the album is THAT far away yet!  As was stated earlier - everything seems better (band dynamics, writing process, etc etc) and we are all creating our own hype for this next record. I have a feeling there are going to be some "wow - that's different!" moments and some tried-and-true DT riffs and such too. I don't want to hype myself so much that it can't live up to an unmakeable standard - but all signs point to go and I know we will be pleasantly surprised (and occasionally amazed) by what's been accomplished.

About when they will start playing a new song live - maybe it won't be for a bit - but whatever concert bootlegs start coming in - I have a feeling that even the songs from their catalog prior to ADToE will sound spirited and have a lot of life in their performances.

does this mean....
a making of DVD ??? (YESSSSSSSSSS PLEASSSEE!! i'm a fan of that stuff, for all music/all bands ).
a indept interview with DT as a bonus DVD
a cameraman was just there as he had a day off and nothing todo...

well know i have to decide which pic wil be my background... i think i go for JP behind the mixer

New DT album is all mixed and mastered as of today. First show of the tour in Rome in less than a week! Looking forward to seeing everyone.
