that's.. lame
The cover was even more lame. MP sitting on a giant marshmallow giving what was deemed "The Prog Claw"

Oh God, now I remember.
\o\ lol /o/

 :lol
That should have been the first sign that things were going awry in the Dream Theater camp

Probably not intentional at all, but it's funny, from left to right you have the newest members to the oldest members.

Huh, very neat. Gotta be intentional.

?

I also find it ironic how the remaining 2 founding members are the youngest guys in the band! :lol

Wow, wikipedia has suddenly got a lot more info than yesterday on the track listings: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Dramatic_Turn_of_Events

I dont think any of the track lengths are real tbh. Although I really hope OTBOA isnt 46 seconds long

SystematicThought

That'd be funny to have a 46 second song with lyrics.. Hmm. That'd be interesting. Wasn't it 8:46 earlier  :lol

And I like how this version has the lyricists

The Silent Cody

SystematicThought

Now Lost Not Forgotten has all past members as lyricists  :lol

funny how long songs used to be desired, now some people dont want any
It's a scarcity thing. I don't think we collectively "like" a certain type of song any more than another - but on the heels of the long-song apocalypse of Black Clouds & Silver Linings, which succeeds an album featuring the 25-minute long In the Presence of Enemies (and the 15 minute long Ministry of Lost Souls), which is the direct successor to Octavarium, we're a little oversaturated on the sprawling epics as of right now.

They used to be a lot more exciting when, prior to 2005, the longest single track was A Change of Seasons, released back in 1995, and written as far back as the 1980s. Give us two or three albums of 9 minuters and we'll be looking forward to the next epic again, but right now it's so happenstance that it's taken the shine off a little bit.

I really wish people would stop being dicks on the wikipedia page.

That new promo shot kind of reminded me of this one from BC&SL. Hopefully the days of horribly photoshopped backgrounds are done

Also: Coming next will be the documentary photos in the recording studio.

Yay  :)

Love the pictures; I wouldn't mind seeing them being used for the album booklet at all.

eosforum

Oh, wait. Documentary photos? Like photos from a documentary filming session or photos that were taken in a documentary-kinda-way?

That JP pic  :eek

It's like: "I could tear your mortal body into subatomic particles, but I'm in a good mood today and I won't hurt you."

The Silent Cody

Great pictures!! Especially JP, looks really...I don't know how to say this - mighty maybe  is this official news?

TAC

Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

That is a really bad picture...
\o\ lol /o/

?

Those new photos look much better than the "we're a dark and tough metal band" style shots from the SC/BC&SL era!

DarkLord_Lalinc

Funny, everything seems better now in DT land. (Writing process, photographs, band dynamics). Now, if both the album art and album rock everything will be stellar. :hat
