Anyone here listen to their live album? It's pretty fucking awesome besides Ben derping up every other song with pointless singing/yelling.

Pretty much this.
Their music is really made for being played live, but some of the talk in between songs is annoying. :P

Pendulum thrill me when they get played in clubs, I went to see their DJ set a couple of years ago and it was insane! Everyone had their shirt off, was soaked in everyone else's sweat, glow sticks, dancing until you felt you were gonna collapse, and just the best atmosphere. Slam and Blood Sugar are impossible not to dance to I find.

I don't think I feel this through bias though, but The Fountain is definitely my favourite Pendulum song so far, it just has more depth and feeling than any of the others. It's my song of 2010 for sure, I've been listening to it loads since it was released.

Every story needs to have an ending, we might as well give up all this pretending and clear the air...

Yeah my roomate saw their DJ set at Fabric last year, he said it was completely insane. Wish I had been able to go.

Yeah, when I first heard about Pendulum and SW I was like "what the fuck?" but was really suprised by how brilliantly it turned out!

After listening to all three albums I still think that Immersion is still by far my favorite. I think what it comes down to is that I'm more interested in their more "intense" songs like Salt in the Wounds, Set Me On Fire, and The Island.  There just aren't as many of the really intense instrumental  parts like that on the first two albums. Still a lot of really great songs, but nothing that makes me think "HOLY FUCK THIS IS AWESOME!"

If someone who knows a lot more about electronic music that me wants to recommend a band/artist that has more songs like those then I would very much appreciate it. I should take that to the electronic music thread though.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Salt in the Wounds is easily my least favorite song on Immersion.
Personally, Hold Your Colour is my favorite, that song just has the majority of the best songs, even though songs like Tarantula and Slam would rank fairly low if I made a song-ranking on that album.
To me it's like this:

1. Hold Your Colour = Fantastic
2. Immersion = Fantastic
3. In Silico = Individually it has a lot of really good songs, overall I'd say it's pretty good

It's really hard picking favorite-songs by Pendulum, but nr1 would most likely be Hold Your Colour.
That song just has something special, and it's one of those tunes that you can listen to endlessly.
Girl in the Fire and Plastic World would both be up there as well, both from HYC.  :heart

Voodoo People needs some love too, even if it is a cover.

I was actually just about to post this.
Listened to the Live at Brixton, and the Voodoo People remix was easily one of the highlights.
Is awesome.  :heart

I was at an event featuring Tiesto when he played The Island pt1/2. Needless to say, I lost my shit.
Didn't really dig the rest of that album though. I enjoy good electro/house/trance/dubstep etc. but drum n' bass is definitely not my thing...
If you're in the same boat as me, check out Deadmau5's latest track: HR 8938 Cephei. Progressive electro with a trancy vibe that is ultimately  :hefdaddy

Colorful at least.  :hat

Quote from: Wikipedia
On October 26, 2010, Swire announced via Twitter that a new record is in the works. This new record is set to be heavily punk influenced. The next album is expected to be a significant departure from usage of drum and bass tempo, for a faster tempo in the form of punk, and a slower tempo in the form of dubstep.

This really sounds interesting.
Personally it feels like everything Pendulum does turns to gold, so no matter what direction they'll go for album nr4, I'll still be very interested. :caffeine:

Didn't Pendulum have a song that was called Dubstep on Immersion?
The Vulture if I don't remember it wrong.
I honestly have no idea what separates the electronic subgenres, it all sounds fine to me.

Yeah, there were bits of dubstep on Immersion (Set Me on Fire, not The Vulture), and while decent they were definitely the low points of the album. Dubstep in general is just so fucking boring, I truly don't understand why it's getting so popular.

Oh my bad.
Set Me on Fire is great, but I get what you mean, it's not really one of my favorites, even though I think it's a pretty solid song.
No matter what changes they're going for, I'm still confident that Pendulum will sound like Pendulum, on Immersion they reached out to several new genres while still maintaining a certain sound, and I'm sure the next album will be something similar.

I just hope it's consistently good like Immersion, because last time they tried to swap genres (In Silico) it was one crappy record.

I was a bit uneasy about their plans to make a more dubstep-orientated album, not sure how it would turn out...

Then I heard Set Me on Fire

I'm really psyched about a new album, seeing as I'm a huge fan of the band, and when you're listening to a band on a weekly basis, 3 albums (plus a lot of B-sides) isn't much to go around on. :P

Immersion is without a doubt in my top five best albums of all time. Their other two albums I'm not too keen on, they seem too "predictable". Every song on Immersion seems to try something different, and they all succeed flawlessley.

Yeah indeed. I listened to Immersion like once on the release day but then just forgot about it until recently The Island popped up when i had my playlist on shuffle and now i'm hooked to the album.

Generic? Pop? :P
Even though these guys really don't do Drum N Bass anymore, I can't think of a single song that sounds pop-ish.

Hard to recommend ONE song that sounds Pendulum, but I'd probably say Hold Your Colour, The Island or Watercolour. (to give a somewhat decent overview)
