After listening to SI quite a bit this week I'm still blown away. Every single song is catchy and great, and it's so much fun to listen to. Amazing work, Matt (and of course the rest of the band) :tup
I couldn't even name any favourite tracks, since they are all consistently good and I've got a different one stuck in my head every day :metal

I attended a first aid course yesterday, which was totally in vain, since I couldn't think about anything but "HELP MEEEEEE, SEND CAVALRY TO THE REEEESCUE!" the whole day :lol

I liked a few songs on Static Impulse a lot but most of the album wasn't too mind blowing.
Impermanent Resolution Resonance... damn, I love it from A to Z! Each and every song is so full of melodies, I like the lyrics, love the guitars, love the drumming. There should be more bass guitar and more guitar solos, but so far it's my most frequently listened to album this year :metal

???  Never heard that album.  Sounds like James LaBrie meets Lamb of God.  :lol

I may still like Static Impulse better. I think IR could have had more harsh vox, but I understand why they toned it down.

Still really great.

I don't really get the love for Elements Of Persuasion. I only really liked two or three songs.

Elements of Persuasion is an amazing album. But the more I listen to Impermanent Resonance, the more the brilliance of it comes out, and I really think it might become my favorite JLB album as well, given time.

I managed to find Matt's YT channel and there are some interesting videos like a couple of demos and studio videos from the SI sessions. So Matt, if you read this I have to say you have a nice voice (of course I knew you performed backing vocals on the albums, but I haven't heard you sing on your own before)! :tup

Somehow Euphoric just hit me even more than before :omg:
Such a great song, and there's something about the lyrics that makes me absolutely love them :metal

After listening to SI a lot within the last one or two weeks, I gave IR another listen, and although it doesn't quite come close to SI and some of the songs still seem kind of like filler to me, it's still a RAAAWK-ing album with lots of great stuff on it.

Thanks for making this awesome music, guys, especially Matt :tup

Yeah, Euphoric is a great song.  I played it for my GF shortly after we met because it reminded me of how she made me feel.   :hefdaddy

Here's my take on the 2 previous releases as well as the current.

EoP is a really good album.  I liked it much more than his previous releases.  The sound quality could’ve been better, but the song writing and music is excellent.
When I first got SI, I didn’t like it as much as EoP, but that changed very quickly.  Much better sound and it just flatout rocks.  It ends in a whimper but still a very good ballad and album closer.  The CD was living in my car for months.  Listened to it all the time almost to the point of becoming sick of it, but not quite.  I listen to it less now, but love it just as much every time.

IR is a great album.  Well balanced musically as well as the sound.  I like it more with every spin but it is a little less heavy than SI.   That’s why SI still remains as my fav.  However, the PW growls on SI were a little excessive which really isn’t a big deal to me.  But, I’m glad that they decided to tone that down a bit on IR.  Too much of a good thing isn’t always good.

Overall, JLB has put out some great solo stuff.  Especially, with his last 3 releases since 2005.  Him and all his band members deserve much credit for the quality of their craft.  Keep up the good work guys.  Looking forward to more music.

I am Dissapoint.

Is the whole album gonna have the screaming vocals and cheesy keys?

Same here.  I bought it but put it on Ebay right after listening to it.  I love Drream Theater and I liked Jame's early solo efforts.  (Mullmuzzler 1 and 2 but these past 2 solo albums have not had songs or melodies that I enjoy.

I hope he scraps the death metal screams on the next effort and focuses more on better melodies.  It just wasn;t very catchy IMO

...Have you heard Impermanent Resonance?

Yeah and unfortunately it wasn't catchy to me.

Almost everything was forgettable.  I wish I liked it but I preferred both Mullmuzzler releases over these last 2 solo efforts.

Songs like Stranger, His Voice, Venice Burning, A Simple Man, Lace, Falling, Save Me, Believe, Listening, Tell Me, Slow Burn, Shores of Avalon, Confronting The Devil, and Sacrifice are very catchy, had memorable choruses, and had great melodies......I just didn't feel it on this release.  I wish I did.

I'm gonna go on a stretch say that it's really just the harsh vocals for you, which is fine I guess, unfortunate but fine. Because, there is some catchy as fuck stuff on this album.

Amnesia may be my favorite off of IR. Song is so damn catchy that I need amnesia to get it out of my head.

Why does JLB always let his drummers do vocals? He should be like, "Bitch, sit back down or ye'll walk the plank ARRRRR!"  :lol

FTFY ;)

Stranger, His Voice, Venice Burning, A Simple Man, Lace, Falling, Save Me, Believe, Listening, Tell Me, Slow Burn, Shores of Avalon, Confronting The Devil, and Sacrifice

There's a severe lack of As A Man Thinks from this.  Been my fucking earworm ALL WEEK. :metal
