Hey guys, the kickstarter project proposal just got accepted. All I need to do is launch it.

I'm planning to set the goal at $200. That would get me a site for two years as well as a few quality pens for making the comic. If anything gets raised above that, the money will either go towards extending the ownership of the site, or for a drawing tablet for photoshop work.

Now here's where I need your input. How much should I charge for custom comics as one of the rewards? ~$15?

What do you mean custom comics? Like you're going to draw a comic for each person who donates $15?

Exactly. I don't know how much the cost of donating should be to get that reward.

The custom comic would be whatever the backer wanted. They could just give me names and I could make a situation, or they could choose the situation and characters, etc. I would scan it and mail them the original, signed and with thanks.

Ugh, maybe more like $25.

And for I guess $5 I could give them a doodle of whatever on a small piece of paper.

Assuming everyone donates that amount you would have to draw 14 custom comics. Would that take a really long time? If that's too much then maybe $20 or $25 would be better.

My thoughts exactly.

For a smaller price you could do a custom doodle type thing, and then for maybe 25$ do a comic.

Yeah, full comics usually take a few hours to make. With the shipping I would say $25 would make it worth making them.

And at $5 could be the doodles.

I'm working on setting up the bank account for the project.

Hopefully this all goes smoothly.

Because if it does, then it's just a matter of one-click installing Comic Press, then figuring out how to make the site look nice, then figuring out how to put ad spaces on it, then figuring out how to make new pages, then balgh blahg eghl ash oshf ehrp

I'd donate if it was easier for me... I can't do it myself since I'm underage, so I have to ask my parents about it which makes things not-so-simple. But I'll turn 18 in six months!

Hrmph. This is taking a little while to organize, as well as determining what to set the goal at.

Kickstarter makes 5% of the pledges if it success, and supposing the project raises $200, that leaves me with $190. Every card transaction to my account once they're collected costs me 2.9% + $0.30 for transactions over $10. Assuming most people pledge the $25, that's about $1.60 per pledge, making it collectively $12.80, and that leaves $177.20

Which is behind my decision for setting the goal at $200 rather than the original estimate.

I'm thinking out loud, is what I'm saying.

I really enjoyed making the face in the 5th panel. It reminds me of a face you would see in a Merrie Melodies cartoon in the 1930's or something.

And the kickstarter would have been up sooner, but since I lost my wallet my driver's license is gone, which I need to open a bank account here, which I plan to use solely for Feel Afraid related things. Once that license comes in the post I can get everything rolling

Would you prefer requests to be basic to allow you to roll with it or are you looking for more specifics?

That's a good question.

Your request can be as specific or basic as you want. If you just want to give me characters, character names (like if you want the names of you and your bff or something), or just a situation, that's all fine. You can give me all three, with a basic "abstract" situation, or you can give me the situation play-by-play.
