I'm rather bogged down with exam stuff at the moment so am completely lacking in any kind of creativity to be able to come up with something in any detail.

Sonata, I don't know if you've thought about this, but might I suggest a regular release schedule, something like MWF? That gives you Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the weekends to come up with stuff. That way people will know when to check your site. Just a thought.

No you don't. Make the width of the image smaller, and then have it so you can click on the picture to get the full thing. Kind of like a thumbnail, I guess.

I've just had a little gander through it for the first time. I think the artwork's the strongest point by quite a long chalk. Sometimes the punchline isn't quite obvious, but the art absolutely sells it. The one with the cat and the tortoise in the bath, for instance. No idea what was going on there, or if there even was a joke, but the drawing style kept me in tune.
So yeah! Occasionally a little busy and confusing, but good stuff. Also very impressed by how quickly it's taken shape. The appearance of it has evolved immensely in just a couple of months. Now it looks absolutely like a slick, professional dealybob.

I didn't get this one until you explained it (I don't play Minecraft). I love the Ink Wash effect, but I don't think it suited this comic well. Maybe it's just me, but I felt it obscured the last panel a bit too much. *shrugs*

I agree with Emindead. The first panel, for instance, was way too dark on the side of the face. Way too much shadow. I dunno, I see Minecraft as a very colorful game, and ink wash doesn't really suit the game's atmosphere.

Hey, Chris, I know the good comments help, but you'll have to learn to ignore those because you suck. A long time ago I was writing a Sigz parody and publishing it on a forum, and while all people loved it and said they literally fell off their chairs laughing, there were some saying it was the greatest thing they ever read, and those few good comments made me realize I am way better than you at everything. They commenters are mostly just people way smarter than you wanting to educate you on being awesome, and if you're going to get the comic famous you'll just have to learn to stop trying and never do anything again.
I think you're subpar and your comic is one of my absolute favourites to wipe my ass with. Yes, there are things to work on, like everything, but you're extremely untalented and it'll be a problem for you to improve. So there. ;)

Just for those who might not get it: the moon is from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask in which this giant, angry-faced moon is heading very slowly towards the earth and you have three days to stop it before impact.

Looks too cluttered if there are too many joke faces competing for space. And the deadpan first three panels gives the final panel far more oomph as a punchline. The rough premise of a joke is to build up one expectation and then sort of tug it away. Non-sequiturs can work, but if you've got no meter of normality, the abnormality doesn't really work as well. So I think the relative realism (by cartoony standards, natch) of the first three makes the final panel work a lot better.

Sonata, quit being so hard on yourself. "Don't grief", "I know I suck at tablets," etc. I mean, doing it here is understandable (sort of... as you're your own worst critic - THE COMICS ARE GOOD, DAMMIT), where you're part of a community and have peer support. But do you reckon it'd make sense to plan for that kind of thing? Like, if you've got midterms coming up, do two - or three, or four, or five - in the previous week (or previous weeks! build up a buffer) and then you've got them ready and waiting when you won't be able to draw on schedule.
It's just that skipped updates are the bane of any webcomic fan, and I don't know how healthy it is to already have slacked to updating "loosely" on Mondays and Fridays at such a critical stage of the comic's development? Just as you're picking up steam.
Like I said, though, ignore me. I'm speaking out of turn. Not my place to comment. It just seems that at such an exciting phase of the comic's life, when it's starting to pick up some real steam, there's perhaps a bit of danger in dropping it in the priorities - no matter how much life conspires to get in the way.

No! Not at all. I'd actually call that one one of the funniest. Lovely setup, funny punchline (executed brilliantly, btw - the demon is beautifully drawn, eldritch but funny, and the cat and baby are just the right level of vacuous), it's a non-sequitur that the reader doesn't see coming, but it doesn't feel laboured, the characters' personalities are appropriately sketched in, it's a familiar scenario, built clearly but not pedantically, and a novel interpretation of it.Chris, you're really on a hot streak right now. Keep it up.

Actually, if I remember correctly, it was a thread he started in GMD, now deleted, that was the culprit. Can't remember what it was about, I just remember seeing it, then him getting the banhammer(saw it in the FB group when it happened), then the thread in question was gone.
If I am wrong about this, someone can correct me, I am old and the memory is a bit questionable these days.
Also, at least one of his posts was deleted and was a lengthy OP that aimlessly wandered about as a sort of stream of consciousness telling about a long walk to Wendy's (burger joint in America...I don't know if y'all have 'em in Serbia) and being dissatisfied with his overly salty french fries which started making the sides of his mouth feel as though they were splitting which he said reminded him of what it's like when he's blowing an extremely well-endowed dude but doesn't care about his mouth ripping because he really enjoys the act.
Some of his posts ventured into the darker shades of the "grey area" regarding decency/profanity/lewdness (however it may be worded in DTF's rules.) I'm a degenerate anyway so I normally found something to laugh at in most of his controversial posts but I guess some people didn't and, after a few of those grey area adventures, he ended upgetting permabanned.Thanks for the answer :)

been thinking a lot lately about comics that don’t have arcs in the traditional sense. we cling to narratives in media that have these perfect finite endings. punchlines. whatever. fin. as such the story closes, enabling us to happily go about our lives again. the characters reached the end of their tale and disappear. it replicates this false idea of closure that we as humans in our shitty complicated world can never actually achieve, but all the same is comforting and warm and fulfilling.
anyway. there are stories that don’t end with a “phew” or evoke that feeling of satisfaction. instead they bring out a fuck we do talk like that and we do say those things. the punchline is not going to be served to you, it’s to be found in the confrontation when a snapshot of your reality is presented and you have to struggle with and swallow that. or not. who gives a shit, i don’t make the rules. this confrontation is a lot more uncomfortable than a The End would be, but maybe you should feel uncomfortable. what the heck did you think comics were for.
I really love Feel Afraid, it's got a great balance of clever humor and weirdness.I love Three Word Phrase! Pictures For Sad Children is pretty similar to that concept as well, and Buttersafe is somewhere in between Feel Afraid and Cyanide & Happiness, at least in drawing style.
